I am really tempted by this but I've heard it's a one off package, I was hoping the 20 games would be released on a cartridge or add-on of some kind, that way they could release more over the months. As it stands, there's only about 5-10 games on it that I'd want.

All is forgiven ;)

Like Alvin just said, WTF is up with the controllers? Did they really need the additional handles?

It's not a handheld though- you plug it into a TV.

If you want to play crap old games that aren't as good as you remember them on public transport you'll need a Sega Nomad- and a shed-load of batteries.

There is this one as well though you can only get it on import (I think):

I've been very tempted, I leant my 6-button controllers to someone years ago so this is probably the easiest way to get hold of some more. It allows you to play US games as well.

They have a handheld console with a screen on http://www.segaretro.net , looks about half the size of that nomad and wont eat batteries!

That's pretty dinky, but I'm guessing that it's preloaded ROMs only and doesn't take cartridges, but if the price is right then it could be tempting.
