Given that games take so long to plan and make I don't think anything less than complete economic collapse will stop any of the big 3 from whatever release plans they have.

if the cashflow dries up they just might not even have the money to pay staff to finish them.

We could see the end of a lot of major corporations.

Erm, I know the outlook is slightly gloomy but you're talking about some of the worlds largest companies not being able to pay staff which would mean almost total global economic collapse and I'm not sure the 720 would be all that important at that point anyway. I'm rather hoping that doesn't happen if I'm honest as it sounds like a bit of a downer.
Do you watch a lot of Fox News Fishy to be so glum?

Anyone who wanted to buy it would have done so by now. It wouldn't sell much on Wii U anyway.

The Skyrim: GOTY Edition will be out at about the same time as the Wii U wont it?

Can't see why it'd sell more on Wii U than it would on PC, 360 or PS3. Not the right audience.

I'd maybe buy it again if the Wii U provided enough of an upgrade :shifty: .

How powerful is the Wii U? About the same as the 360 and PS3?

Roughly, but as the technology is going to be much more recently developed than the PS3 or 360, it may be capable of pushing slightly nicer visuals, or doing other things more efficiently and quietly.

No non-handheld console will be download only just yet. My monthly Internet usage restriction is 40GB. There are single games of nearly that size...

If that is all it is then I'm really not interested as while I am intrigued by the touch screen controller it's not enough to tempt me by itself but I have hope it's more than that and at least a slight power upgrade.

Nobody actually has a clue of this yet, and Nintendo never give out tech specs. It's pure speculation. But in the theme of speculation, I would be suprised if it didnt have significantly more RAM ;) ;) ;)

I'll make some wild guesses...

- GTA V launches in June - smashes week one sales records set by Call of Duty.
- BioShock Infinite, The Last Of Us and GTA V divide critics over their choice for Game of the Year.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 launches in November - doesn't beat unit sales records set by the original.
- Respawn announces new game at E3. It's a futuristic sci-fi steampunk shooter.
- Criterion releases Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Wins numerous Racing Game of the Year awards.
- Syndicate is poorly received by critics, flops at retail.
- Medal of Honor 2 fails to match hype of Battlefield 3, uses Frostbite 2, multiplayer is developed in-house at Danger Close.
- I Am Alive = 2012's Hydrophobia
- Army of Four revealed/released, uses Frostbite 2.
- Dead Space 3 announced in first half of year, gets October release.
- Half Life 3 gets a surprise reveal, releases within days of announcement.
- Wii U gets a minor hardware upgrade over E3 2011 reveal.
- Assassin's Creed III takes players to Victorian London.
- 3DS Lite launches in June/July.
- Third Xbox shown at E3, launches on 7th anniversary of Xbox 360.
- Vita attach rate is lowest in handheld history, despite hardware selling a respectful volume.
- Splinter Cell 6 revealed at E3. It's a reimagining of the original.
- Killzone 4 shown at E3
- Halo 4 regarded as the best Halo since the original, is 360's swan song, launches in September.

Nope, just the normal news :D

I keep having this horrible feeling that history is repeating itself so I tend to notice the analysts who predict financial doom.

I am a bundle of joy right now.

Same here. Hard to believe we didn't think that would be possible.
