Desert Bus ftw. Here is a video, for anyone who doesn't know it's a mini-game in the Sega CD Penn & Teller game. You drive a bus down a road. That's it. It veers to the right so you can't just leave a pad driving in a straight line. So soul destroying when you notice the rear view and there is no one on the bus, you simply drive down a straight road for hours and hours for no reason.

If this isn't worth a donation then I don't know what is.

Need to bring Sundaylo to Friday/Saturdaylo for this.

Insert "He's already playing enough crap games hurrdurr" comment here.

Yep, starting about 9pm on the Friday and playing all the way through to 9pm on the Saturday.

Some Halo sessions would be brilliant. You lot would be guaranteed some easy kills (no matter what time we end up playing at!) and it'll keep me awake too.

Thanks for the link but I think I'm going to avoid watching the Superman 64 vid, JiggerJay. I've never played it or seen it running before so I want to experience its horror in full the first time I boot it up. I'm guessing it'll also be the last time!

And yes, as Rog has said, Desert Bus could be an utter nightmare. There are charity events held each year where people play it in relays for hours on end. Crumbs.

Thanks to everyone that's voted so far! :)

EDIT: Rog! Thanks mate, very kind of you.

You lucky people are now 1/3 closer to having me play a fifth game from the list! :D or should that be :(

Looks like I better think about getting my hands on a copy of Superman 64 then!

But, which games will take up slots 2-4? Certainly looking likely that desert Bus will be on the schedule, could Garbage Truck Simulator be up there too?

To confirm their shitness, Charlie's Angels, Captain Novolin and Garden Simulator don't have any votes yet. Feel free it keep to that way :shifty: :)

You are forgiven, my son. I have made this choice, and I must go through with it. A decision had to made, I hope my forgiveness can remove the guilt that you will feel for the rest of your days for putting me through this.

Amen.

 x like, loads.

I received a very generous donation earlier on my JustGiving page. It was anonymous so, if it was someone from here, I just want to say, thank you, thank you very, very much. You should change your user name to Mr (or Mrs) Awesome, for that is what you are.

So, with that in mind, I'm now upping the games I'll play from the list to 6 thanks to Rog and Mr (or Mrs) Awesome (even if they're not from here, I'm saying their donation still counts, very moved by their generosity).

Come on folks, take an example from them rather than some others I've seen on the forum tonight and dig deep, it's all for a great cause.

Also, be nice to each other, 'k? 'k.

OH MY GOD!

Garbage Truck Simulator moves into second place!

Still a few days left to vote, folks. Any love out there for the lower placed titles?

Oookay then, looks like the six titles are more or less decided!

As it stands just now, I'll be playing:

Superman 64
Garbage Truck Simulator
Desert Bus
ET
Barbie's Horse Adventure and
Coronation Street: The Mystery of the Missing Hotpot.

Words I never thought I'd type :)

Remember, for every £30 donated by GRcade members, I'll add another game to be played. You've already increased the amount from 3 to 6 and there's plenty of time to make it 7 or more!

I've extended the voting by a few days, I got a bit excited and thought there was only two weeks to go, turns out there's three, so the extra time will maybe see more of a split in the lower voted games.

Great going so far though folks, thanks very much for all the interest

Vindictive Bastards Lovely People who voted for Garbage Truck Simulator

I've just downloaded this and it looks like I'll only get 30 minutes of a free trial. After that, the main game will cost me $19.99.

Would you mind if I played the 30 minute trial and then use the remaining time to play another game from the list? Something like Elf Bowling perhaps?

EDIT: I'll take silence as agreement ;)

And, lo, it was written, that gooseberry fool games would be decided upon this day and thus it did come to pass.

It got a bit close for bit there, but it comes as no surprise that Superman 64 was your most voted for Game From Hell!

The remaining five titles that I will play are as follows:

Garbage Truck Simulator!
Desert Bus!
ET!
Barbie's Horse Adventure! and
Coronation Street: The Mystery of the Missing Hotpot!

Bring. It Them. On.

Thanks to everyone that voted and has sponsored me far, and thanks again to Madness for coming up with the original idea. You really lived up to your user name with that one :)

Now, voting may have closed but there's still plenty time to sponsor me if you like. I've just this evening reached £665 and would love to see that total keep growing.

Here's the link to my JustGiving page

http://www.justgiving.com/Neil-Gow1

and here's an example of what the funds raised from last year's SKSP helped with:

Awesome story

I'm hoping to have some other, surprise gooseberry fool titles to hand for the event itself so for every £30 donated by GRcade members, during it, I'll still be able to add another game to be played.

Thanks again for reading!

7 titles there be now!

Many thanks to Henke, Cuttooth and Suzz for their very kind donations, that really is an amazing amount you guys have helped towards.

So, another game makes the list! Not sure what it will be, perhaps one of the mystery titles?

Needless to say, I'll stick by my word and pick something to play.

I wasn't expecting it to get to this amount!

I managed to get some interest from the local paper for this and they've added a nice little story to their website this morning. The print copy comes out today too so I'll be picking up a few issues.

Here's the link if you'd like a read.

Don't laugh at my picture

Pay particular attention to the 3rd last paragraph...dudes, we're famous!

EDIT: And here's the picture of the paper. I hadn't realised before, but it is actually on the front page!

Congrats on reaching your target of 1k! Pretty nice of your local paper to do an article on it too, hopefully you'll get some more donations from that. ;)

Thanks mate, it feels good! The new issues of the paper came out yesterday so I'm no longer 'point and laugh' material (to be fair, it only happened once and it was really just a "Hey, it's that guy!") but I did get an anonymous donation so I'm guessing that came from a reader or neighbour, very kind no matter who though.

Was testing my set-up tonight and all seems fine. Kengo Zero and KISS Pinball turned up today too. I had a quick shot on both. An hour really is going to seem like a long time when I'm playing them!

Preparations have been finalised, controllers have been charged and the National Grid has been put on standby. My 24 hour charity gameathon starts TOMORROW!

I’ll be keeping this thread up to date as much as possible over the course of the night (and day), join in and give me any words of encouragement or abuse where appropriate! :D

At the last check, the SKSP guys were very close to hitting the £10,000 target, help us get there!

That'd help  :fp:

I've added a timetable to the OP to track what I'm getting up to.

Hoping to kick things off at about 8.30pm, Desert Bus gets the honour of the first slot!

Yeah, I had considered that but

a) I'm completely inept at that sort of thing
b) I only have a webcam on my laptop so
c) You'd have 24 hours of me just going "ugh" every now and again without seeing what I'm playing :)

I'm going to try and video some of the games I'm playing and will attempt an upload to somewhere at some point :shifty:

There's a nice article about the event on the Telegraph Games site today. You can have a read of it here:

Telegraph Games

Really chuffed at the exposure and support that this is getting
