Blue clock!

Maybe it's because my expectations were so low but I liked that. Too early to say how Hawkins is in the role but he did a decent job here in the first episode.

My expectations were also very low and it exceeded them. The main guy was quite good but all the other characters are pretty dull so far, and the dialogue is clunky.
I liked that they used splitscreen a lot, and they didn't feel the need to go massive with the plot or action scenes.
I feel the mole stuff is too obvious CTU boss woman who got the medal will be the mole and dodgy looking guy who got tasered is innocent.

There was some seriously ropey acting in that episode, even by 24's standard. Still, my expectations were firmly in check so I did enjoy it somewhat. Really wish it wasn't another middle eastern terrorist threat mind you. Nice little mention of

Edit: That second episode was rough as strawberry float. Calling it now, the blue clock is going to change to orange as it gets closer to night time.

This might be 24 at the stupidest it's been in a long time but I'd lying if I said I wasn't mostly enjoying it.

I did an actual face palm at that bit. It was so unnecessary and would have been better to bring him in alive for questioning.

Anyone still watching this? I just watched episode 9 and am so bored with this. There's not enough story here to sustain the amount of episodes (It's 12 right?). They really should have done the break Jack out of prison story thread. Have new characters, a black lead, fine, but make the story actually interesting.

Every single character annoys the strawberry float out of me by how stupid they are.

I'm watching it at UK pace, but yeah it's really not that great.

24 got more over-the-top each season looking for ways to shock or surprise viewers and they had a chance to start afresh with Legacy. Instead, they're rehashing things we've seen many times before only executed much, much worse. The main character is alright but he suffers from not being Jack or Tony and there's little to make you actually care about him and those close to him.

I'm still watching but yeah, it's become incredibly dull. Tony's inclusion has been completely pointless so far.

Thought the last few episodes have been pretty good myself, nothing incredible but on par with the last few seasons with Kiefer.

Fox Cancels ’24: Legacy,’ Will Explore Future Versions of Franchise

Fox has canceled “24: Legacy,” the spinoff of the long-running espionage-action drama.

The network and studio 20th Century Fox Television are exploring future iterations of “24,” possibly as an anthology built around the real-time storytelling format of the original series. Fox said it was already at work with “24” producers on that model.

Fuxake. I didn't actually enjoy the series that much, but by the very end, I was thinking they'd done a decent job of getting all the pieces in place for a further series, with Jimmy Smits running for president and Eric Carter brought into CTU help defend him. Ie basically that they'd laid the groundwork for a true reboot, of Season One and the [kiefer voice]California Presidential Primary [/kiefer voice]

Semi related bump. We're going to see Keifer Sutherland and his band perform in bristol tonight in some little club. I'll be honest, I'm only going because there's a tiny chance I'll get to meet Jack Bauer :datass:

EXCLUSIVE: Fox is developing a potential new incarnation of its Emmy-winning drama series that would have a female lead and take the real-time format of the terrorism-themed original and apply it to a different arena, criminal justice.

Details about the premise are sketchy, but I hear that the potential new 24 series centers on a female prosecutor who uncovers a legal conspiracy and has to work against the clock to save a death row inmate facing imminent execution whom she had helped prosecute but may be innocent. I hear this is part of an anthological take on 24 that would tackle a new world with new characters each season.

That actually sounds like it could be good.

However the 'new characters each season' is what they said about 24 season 1 but then changed their mind once it did well.

And heroes... and I'm sure other shows have promised it too. Executives always panic that starting with new characters will alienate viewers so they do the same thing every time; they create weak and flimsy plots to justify keeping characters in and it nearly always feels crap because of it. I'm still bitter about how badly heroes dropped off after a great first season.

‘24’ Prequel Series Tracing Jack Bauer’s Origin Story In the Works At Fox

During Fox’s upfront press call in May, Fox TV Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden revealed that former 24 executive showrunner Howard Gordon is working with 24 co-creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran on a possible new incarnation of the real-time drama. Walden would not elaborate on what the new premise is but noted that “we are very excited about where the show would go.”

I have learned that where the potential new installment would go is the past. I hear the new 24 series, now in active development at 20th TV and Imagine TV, will serve as a prequel to the original 2001 series. Written by Gordon, Cochran and Surnow, it is said to be in the vein of the original and will trace the origin story of CTU agent Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland on 24 for eight seasons and on follow-up limited series 24: Live Another Day.

The Fox network and 24 producers 20th Century Fox, Imagine TV’s Brian Grazer and Gordon had been discussing new ideas for a 24 series since the end of 24: Legacy in 2017. The prequel is one of two 24 reboot ideas that are being developed, along with a legal thriller written by Gordon and Jeremy Doner.

Oh great, I hope we get to hear how he got the codename Bauer and how he did the dammit run in less than 20 parsecs, and how he won his PDA in an illegal gambling game.

Boo :|

Nobody wants a prequel. Not even Jesus want a prequel.

Alls I want is one last season with Bauer, picking up a few years after the last because you can’t leave me hanging on a cliffhanger like that.

A blooming prequel. What’s blooming wrong with you Fox?.
