Hmm...

1 - Full cross platform play on all online titles.

2 - Exclusives abolished for all platforms to enable previous wish fully.

3 - Nintendo to publish its games on all consoles.

1 - that when you put a new game in your PS4/Xbox, you can just play it straight away without having to wait for it to install and download a 10GB day 1 patch.

2 - remaster of Metal Gear Solid but with the control scheme and mechanics of MGSV. Oh yeah :datass:

3 - a decent Vietnam game. Maybe modeled on Ghost Recon: Wildlands? That'd be neat,

1. Paper Mario and the Thousand-and-One Year Door for Switch.

2. Meteos 2 for Switch. This is niche as all heck, I’m aware, but Meteos on DS was my favourite puzzler ever. Nothing since has come close.

3. All developers to stop using conflict materials in their production of games and machines. Especially Nintendo.

What are these combat materials of which you speak?

A return of arcade football games.

For consoles to be able to suspend one game whilst another is being played and for the user to be able to quickly switch between them.

For console manufacturers and game publishers and devs to not be dicks.

Number 3 sounds good - but, again, perhaps not overly realistic.

I have to admit I don’t know all the details. Basically Nintendo uses a fair few metals mined from ethically dubious areas, like Sudan and the Congo, and therefore more likely than not dug up by child soldiers and financing local wars. It crops up every so often, and makes the whole ‘Nintendo fanboy’ thing a bit awkward.

HaruKazuhira wrote:1) A Peach & Daisy RPG that breaks all known conventions about their characteristics and tropes. Like a buddy adventure game as they travel to other Kingdoms. Similar to Oddysey but more focused.

2) A Square Enix and GameFreak collaboration on a huge Pokemon game set in a more realistic, fantastical setting. Imagine the budget and team of a SE game being poured into the world of Pokemon.

3) A Golden Sun reboot being handled by either Monolith Soft or Level 5. I think both those studios have qualities that could help bring the series back in a huge way.

These are all tremendous shouts. I’m not sure I’d want the Pokémon to look more realistic, though.

Yes I do. Made the resulting Google search a bit annoying.

My only wish in life is for a blood diamond encrusted PlayStation 5.

Ah... Elite Squadron. The closest we got to the true vision of Battlefront 3. That new mode EA have been quiet about seems to be channelling Elite Squadron if that small description is anything to go by, but I really can't see actually providing to the level that the third was.

As for wishes...
-A new company rises up with a presentable method of how a no-disk future for games can work, putting it into action that keeps games retail thriving.
-EA to stop making Star Wars: Garden Warfare and instead make a proper Star Wars Battlefront.
-Nintendo to have another crack at the Mario Kart Double Dash formula, with the additions of MK8 to allow compatibility with the newer tracks.

Now we're talking! I would be all over this if it ever happened.

I'm struggling to think of gaming wishes to add as several of my long time ones are in the process of being answered right now: System Shock 3 is in production and the original is being remade with updated graphics! :toot:

Why is that, bud?

I’ve struggled with this. As much as I loved the game - it innovated so much! - it took the series in the wrong direction. If it didn’t exist... perhaps the series would have died. Then again, capcom (or someone else) might have made different changes. RE2 looks as though it might be the best of both worlds.

Yep, that’s basically it. I massively resent what it did to my favourite series. Plus I didn’t much like it in its own right, which makes it even worse. But I suppose I need to give it another chance. I liked 5 and 6, but they weren’t the ones to blame. I know it’s stupid logic, assigning blame to the game itself, but that’s just the way it is with me and RE4.

Adding to the perversity of the situation, I own five different versions of the game.

An Xcom classics double pack for 3ds or switch that lets me play the two old original Xcom games Xcom enemy unknown and Xcom terror from the deep on the move.... Heck if they want to be generous throw the first remake on there as well then I wouldn't complain.

For sega to make a new Alien Storm game, or a new Gain Ground..... Originally I'd probably have said streets of rage but that's on the way now.

For Nintendo to go more like Sony and Microsoft where if you brought something on an older console your account still owns it and you can download it on the newer machine... And if it's on 3ds and switch you own it on both.... Was annoying buying mario 3 on the Wii u to then find your supposed to pay again to have it on 3ds.

Just picked up Sega Soccer Slam for the GameCube for £8. I've never played it before but it got pretty good reviews back in the day.

In no particular order...

> A Switch version of Advance Wars
> A remaster of Crash Team Racing with online play
> A new Uncharted prequel focused on Sully

Sounds familiar but I never played it.

Maybe I should just buy another N64 (with a modded analogue stick) and a copy of ISS 98/2000...

Yes! Join the Retro Club, Saint! I haven't slammed in my ISS game pak for quite some time now but I had a lot of fun with it years ago.

Unfortunately ethically sourced tech is essentially a pipe dream and almost impossible to achieve. Read about Fairphone - their entire deal is to make an ethically sourced phone, and even they admit it is currently impossible. Obviously we want to get there but it's difficult to say the least, and definitely not a problem faced by Nintendo alone!

The combined space and planet battles were fantastic, just being able to seamlessly go from fighting on foot for a control point to jumping into a starfighter, taking off and dogfighting over the ground battle, and then transitioning into space to attack the command ship... the new Battlefront's have not come anywhere close and it baffles me this wasn't a design goal from the start. Instead they went the complete opposite direction and vehicles don't even spawn on the maps and can't be entered/exited - it's so much worse it's unbelievable.

Wouldn’t be surprised, but Nintendo still seems to come out worse than its rivals on that front. I’d like that to change.

And hey, realism rules have been pretty bent in this thread already. In a time when Nintendo’s just returned to form, people are crying out for its games on other machines. Pipe dreams for everybody!
