I've wanted to see this for ages, mostly because I wanted more Alec Baldwin comedy after growing tired of Will & Grace - and I have finally got round to renting it.

It's really funny - much more so than a lot of American comedies that try too hard.

Boot Tracy Jordan out and it would be great, he brings the show down a fair bit.

Also what's with the stupid swapping round of letters he (and I've noticed other black people doing) does, I frequently hear 'aksks' instead of 'ask' and in yesterdays episode he said 'eckscape' where he should have said 'escape'.

It's strawberry floating retarded.

DUDE... you are so lame, Tracy Jordan is great in 30 rock, some of the episodes are just great, with him in it, like when he has the awakening about richard nixon, and when he hosts the awards ceremony.

I liked it more when it was an interesting satire on what the behind-the-scenes would look like on a SNL-style show with a zany environment. And it happened to be the best comedy since Arrested Development was cancelled.

Now it's a fairly more routine and regular character sitcom that, while still mostly hilarious and possibly still the best comedy on TV, has disappointed me slightly from what I was expecting since the end of the first season. I mean they barely even mention TGS anymore.

And Tracy Morgan is fantastic, what the hell are you talking about Herbi?

Yeah, it has almost nothing to do with the 'show within the show' that was the premise of the series in the first place. And they seem to be moving dangerously close to becomming a 'guest star of the week' style show in the vein of that horrible Will & Grace. I still enjoy watching it, mind.

Strongly disagee with this bit, though. It's nowhere near, imo.

A lot of it might be them trying to steer well clear of the comparisons to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip that were made when both shows began airing but they've gone to too far an extreme that it's not as interesting as it could and should be.

What would you say is better, just out of interest? Out of the three I regularly watch (Office, 30 Rock, and Sunny In Philadelphia) 30 Rock is the most consistently funny.

Well, it's all down to personal opinion at the end of the day, but Entourage, Californication, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Conchords, The Office, The Venture Bros., IASIP & (of course)Weeds always manage to get more laughs out of me than this.

Yes, but you have to have the brains to understand satire.
