I thought we were talking about Asylum... not played City, didn't feel the need. I thought the whole of City was likely to be dominated by "sequelitis", and by the sounds of it, I might have been right.

Fair play though, some people obviously didn't feel they'd had their fill after Asylum.

I'd say Arkham Asylum is a tragically underscored game, could easily end up being the best game this generation.

Thats the most ridiculous nonsense you've ever posted.

If you are saying most places over score most games, you'd be right, but that has always been the case.

I think if you asked people to name 10 games they thought were over-rated the vast majority would be from this gen.

The added polish all games have these days leads people to overlook poor gameplay a lot more

It might have had issues, but theres no doubting its a boundary pushing quality experience. It might not be quite as good as Portal 2, Skyrim or Zelda, but I'd put it up against Batman any day...but then I think Arkham City is a classic case of overscoring.

Welcome to the club. The club that once included everyone except for you but now includes everyone including you.

Maybe Skyward Sword will tempt you to reconsider previous Zelda games. Which were awesome.

Nintendo games have been generally overrated this generation. They were a much more inventive games developer during the Gamecube days.

Didn't see them pull in the numbers the Wii has though, did it?

You can have Brawl and Mario Kart, but then both games have been massively over-rated on N64 and GC too, so again, nothing new.

Thinking Galaxy or Skyward Sword are overrated is 100% pure lunacy though.

1. I'm not sure thats actually true anywhere but in your head.
2. If it is true for some people, a lot of it will be because those are the games people remember more clearly because they've played them more recently.
3. Games being more polished makes the gameplay better, you are acting like they are two completely seperate things, when clearly one effects the other in big ways.

I haven't played Mario Kart (not bought one since the GBA one, I think) or Skyward Sword yet (I'll buy it after my exams are finished), but Brawl and Galaxy? I'll give you Brawl. It's good, but not 93 on Metacritic good, certainly.

But Galaxy? Overrated?

Galaxy 2 is more overrated than the first game, but both show how as a games developer Nintendo has sort of plateaued.

They're two of my favourite games this generation if that helps.

I just think they're overrated.

It was a decent game but not a fantastic one. Although it's only my view I was bought it after PC gamer gave it a +90% score and said it was almost better than Quake 2. I bought it and thought it was alright but nowhere near as good as Q2.

I don't see how two of the best games ever made could be considered overrated.

There just aren't any other games in their genre that you could realistically say are better. To say that they show Nintendo has 'plateaued' is complete nonsense. They show Nintendo has taken the genre 5 steps beyond what anyone else has ever even considered doing.

I'll give you Brawl and Mario Kart Wii: both were disappointments.

You liked a game based on one weapon?

Completely agree with Assassin's Creed. Completely disagree with L.A. Noire.

Skyward Sword is very true. It simply does not deserve so many perfect 10s, it just has too many flaws that detract from that and cannot be ignored no matter how good everything else may be. Seems like the Aussies got it exactly right:
