Massive trebuchets. Anyway how the hell would I know why they carved them and flung them, it's clearly the work of a hitherto unknown civilisation whose mindset I couldn't hope to guess at.

Havent read cracked in a while, it's always nice to read through it like once a month for a solid half hour while smirking.

You could use them as weapons to defend a position of higher ground. Imagine an army making its way up a hill when massive stone balls come rolling down at high speed and hurtle through thier ranks. It would be carnage. The spherical shapes makes sense since an ordinary boulder would probably not reliable roll down or gather as much speed.

It's also possible it's some kind of art or religious artifacts. You don't find many perfect spheres in nature, other than the sun / moon.

The sheer simplicity and bluntness of "more weight" makes that man the winner.

I do like Cracked. Their photoshop competitions are frequently brilliant. The badass last words article is a cracker (pardon the pun), godd choice Brerlappen.

No matter how enormous the rocks they stacked on Giles, it's evident he was carrying the largest stones in the room before he even walked in.

Loved that line.

Nice find. I love stuff like that. The world is indeed a very strange place. Much stranger than most people care to see...

I remember as kid reading Erich von Däniken's 'Chariots of the Gods' for the first time. Double wow. Couldn't take any religion seriously after that. Still can't.

I love the way that even though it hasn't been proved what the massive spheres Alvin can state what they clearly are and clearly who is responsible for them. strawberry float the experts who have been studying the damn things, just ask Alvin.

Not only that but the only part of the world that experienced the "dark ages" was western Europe. The Eastern Roman empire (Byzantine) was still going very strong.
