Xbox 360 with Jasper arrives on the scene in all its 65nm glory

Hey, those Jaspers we've heard so much about are finally popping up in Xbox 360 consoles -- a bit behind the anticipated August release date, but better late than never right? If you'll recall these boards come equipped with 65nm chips that draw significantly less power, along with reduced heat output. If you're thinking about picking one of the new models up, you might want to check that the manufacture date is no earlier than August 6, 2008, and lot number is 8031 or above.

Jasper-equipped Xbox 360s arrive, manufacturing date, lot and team details revealed

According to the Xbox 360 DVD Drive Database, it appears Xbox 360s outfitted with the much-anticipated Jasper chipset have finally started showing up in stores and at online retailers.

The key things to look for when buying a new Xbox 360 with the Jasper chipset is a manufacturing date (MFR) as early as 2008-08-06, Lot 8031 and up, and Team CSON.

Not just in the US, they've apparently been spotted in the UK too:

That would have helped the price cut.

Great news for those who were waiting. The GPU was the major cause of the RROD so this makes a huge difference.

My finger's on the erm, retail trigger. This is good news, but let's just wait a little while for the sell through of those manky old 90nm GPU units first. B&K isn't out until late November anyway and I just bought WipEout HD.

Softly, softly, catchee monkey!

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I was in Jasper Club but now I'm considering becoming a member of Xbox Slim club. Dilemma dilemma.

My 60gb was made in July but my new Arcade was August, I'll check it when I get home tonight.
