strawberry float all these realistic racers, this is the good gooseberry fool right here.

First gameplay vid of 90's Arcade Racer (PC, WiiU) has just been released.

There's something about Dreamcast era, bright, colourful graphics that really appeals to me and I'm not sure what it is.

Going back in time a little further, we also have Drift Stage (currently PC only) which is currently in Alpha and will hopefully be out before long!

Bringing on back the 90's.

Can anyone remember a racing game called "Super Rally" or something like that? Sorry, it's not much to go on but it was a game I played to death in the 90s when my family first bought a PC and I can't remember much about it.

EDIT - It was SCREAMER!!!

Screamer rally was great

I really want a port of scud race, the track in that video looks like a total rip off of that.

OK, as we're doing this, GTi Club was probably my most-played racing game on the PS3. (Never bothered with Gran Turismo last gen, for some reason.)

Shame there was never anybody playing it online. Great twitchy handling though.

Haha that looks super crap now and hasn't aged well but i remember playing Screamer loads on PC. My friend had multiple pc's setup in his house and we use to play this 3 players on the LAN for quite a few hours.

As this now appears to be the arcade racing thread, has anyone else played Insane 2? It's the nearest to Motorstorm on PC I think we'll ever get, and has some interesting multiplayer modes using starfox-like open levels that let you drive off one end and back on the opposite one:

This came with my first 3d accelerator card.

Oh so 90's. Right down to the @ in the title.

Drift stage is more my cup of tea though, I think. Those classic Outrun/Rad Racer memories.

I played the 1st 1nsane to death, it wasn't the best off-road racer but it was really fun to play, The cheesy 70's porn style soundtrack was excellent too.

Might have a try at the 2nd one at some time.

I've :fp: myself.

Really hoping that the Wii U version sees the light of day when this game is eventually released. It looks terrific.

Problem is they're mostly arcade-only, with the few console releases being only in Japanese.

We should really have arcade perfect versions of Virtua Racing, Daytona, Sega Rally, Manx TT, Scud Race and really all the Model 1/2 Sega racing games available on the current consoles.

Really no reason why we shouldn't be able to play this if we want to...

There may be emulators for older arcade hardware, but that doesn't help getting them on consoles
