You can get very lost in all the potential tactics and rules of all the minutia at every stage.

The one thing that matters (for my money) is that the loser picks who they duel against every week. Everything else is secondary to making friends, I think!

Also tempted to not watch any more coz I kind of hate everyone and seeing Joey just screw everyone who trusts him over.

I wish you had gone into every room Joey sent you in to and told them all he was telling you to go into those rooms, but to keep it under wraps. Would have shown him up in front of everyone I think

But all that said

I don't think you should be too harsh on yourself, DML, and I really respected you for willing to stir up a bit of drama! That's the fun of this stuff - it's all a game after all.

That salesman game seemed flipping impossible. Total coin flip for me if I was in it.

The trick of the trial only became clear at the end of it, which was you would eventually only have one route through so you needed to be in the right place when that happened to win. I didn't spot that until late and it sounds like no one did.

I wonder if a good strat would have been to stay at the starting point (by removing the link you travel to) until there is only one link left and then move and do the same again. Making the start one end of the line. You would get some 4 point penalties but guarantee visiting each place only once.

Yeah, but then you allow your opponent access to the low point journeys.

I have now gone and studied the map. There are 21 spots and you need to retain at least 6 routes to cover the 7 continents, so you will take 7-8 turns to box off every route. That means you will score 32 staying still. The most expensive route remaining would be 35+30+15+12+4+10 (or at the very least, one expensive route) which would put you on a grand total of 138.

This strategy relies on getting all the routes from your starting location but 1 removed AND blocking your opponents cheap routes to undercut your score/make sure he has to loop back on himself.

Antarctica isn't that bad a location. The points are high but they are all high so the point differential between routes isn't necessarily worse than the other places.

Got it. Wherever your opponent moves to first (his 2nd location) you then constantly remove the link between where he is and your personal final location. He can never go to eg Europe because you always cut that route, and the only route you don't cut is the original location to Europe, so he has to walk back to his start, and you ensure these are your last two moves only. Only risk is this being spotted and that link being broken.

I wish I had 2 days to analyse the best plays rather than....15-20 minutes.

Oh, I never would have got that in the 10 mins those in the trial are afforded. As I said above, I didn't spot the trick until after it happened in the trial.

It's hard to tell how well/badly anyone was doing at any point in the trial, mainly as it was distracting watching the other guy have a breakdown on camera. I thought you played strong this entire episode DML, and did yourself proud. You were hampered by being briefed against all episode, and by NoLucks not understanding he didn't lose if he trusted you (or he didn't want to give you immunity and join the 'darkside' when he gave you immunity as he wanted to maintain his floating persona)

I really don't like Spicy, Devin or Joey.

I'll be happy to see any of those three thrown out.

EDIT: Yeah, the more Spicy opens his mouth the more I wish he'd strawberry float off.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I just felt like he went overboard celebrating their victory over Ben. I thought he came across as a bit of a banana split, especially given that it's just a game. Felt a bit personal almost.

Another decent episode, but so many of them seem like they're just skating by.
Lian is really lucky she hasn't found herself in the bottom yet as she just seems useless.
The other guys aren't much better either.
The only people who seem to get a handle on things are the two I like the least.
And Cathy ditching like she did was a bit gooseberry fool. Did she honestly expect people not to challenge her again? But if that's how she felt it's hard to argue with it.
Either way, Alex gets a free pass to the next round.

I'm finding it a harder watch so far now that DML is gone.
But I'll stick with it and see how it progresses.

The party was strawberry floated up. Spicy to gtfo now.

Drunk Shub made this episode.

Cathy's resignation was a bit weak, she has all the light spheres so she is a good scalp to take down and steal from. You'll get picked for trials in that position.

DML in the thumbnail was clickbait to me. Thought he was getting a reprieve. :x

Agree with you!

I imagine the DML face is to make it harder to guess who leaves when if you're seeing them all in a playlist once they're out, but it definitely gave me false hope!

Cathy getting mardy and bowing out was a disappointment. Painting a target on your back is what happens in this game. DML did it. Spicy has just done it to various people. Spend those light orbs to ask him to not choose you!

And yeah, that party was strawberry floated up. So many balloons for such a gooseberry fool joke that makes you look like a prick that can not take a game personally. When it was revealed he was (unintentionally) screwing over Shubs I wanted to scream at him "this is why you don't celebrate 'villains' doing badly coz you're 1 game away from being one yourself" etc etc.

Also agree that Lianne seems utterly useless. I thought she was trying to play the game and give a false number to strawberry float gooseberry fool up when it was revealed she lied, but no she was just an idiot. :fp:
