I don't see how you can get any substantial gameplay out of this, looks like just a novelty to me.

You probably said the same thing about a sidescrolling platformer controlled by a pair of bongos back in the day.

That looks really interesting... I'm quite intrigued at the possible applications in other genres. A new bongo game, maybe?

Lemme guess - Jeff can't be arsed with any game that forces him to lift his fingers up and down?

Erm no :?

Just lots of jokes about the future of add ons which was bloody funny  And how they wanted to hate this but enjoyed their time with it.

The Wii has some good games, Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. The Wii isn't a novelty.

You little tease, a new Jungle Beat would be almost sexual.

That's a gag based on his video review of Wii Sports, which he did sitting down.

And how they wanted to hate this but enjoyed their time with it.

See, I find it hard that someone can go into a game actively wanting to hate it. Sure, there are genres you're not keen on, but it's a bit harsh to WANT to hate something before you play it.

I don't think they use the word hate in true sense to be fair. But lets be honest here if there is a game coming that is from a series you really don't like you will approach that game not liking it before you try it regardless.

I just find it hilarious that they are releasing a game with a cardboard box as a peripheral.

This would appear to be insane. Yet curiously, I'm quite interested in it. Mental.

From what was shown on the 1upshow I said this looked like Jungle Beat done in a Tron style.

How could that not be good?

That might be overselling it a bit, but it has quite a bit of potential.

And it would have been interesting if Nintendo had used 'tapping' for the re-release of Jungle Beat as opposed to a more traditional control method.

It's impossible to watch any of them without having the unbearable urge to join in and start tapping along :)

I involuntarily tap any surface in my proximity anyway, so this could actually be a good way of releasing my pent up urge to drum.

This thread is near impossible to find! Searching for TAP just brings up a bunch of people talking about ME!

Anyway:

Let's Tap has been rated for Australia, and since Australia is Europe but worse it's pretty safe to assume that it's coming out worldwide!

Wow this completely passed me by! It looks great! In this time of economic hardship, cardboard boxes are the future of gaming. Just you wait...
