Drive You Away

Finally decided to write some lyrics to this dirty, strange backing track I made over the summer. Bit introspective, bit dark, possibly over-compressed, but there you go...

So, 36 views. How many of those led to actual listens?

Some must have - any feedback?

Turned off after 60 seconds, just not my cup of tea I'm afraid, it made me want to put a bullet in my head, unsure if that's the way trip hop is meant to be, it's the first time I've heard that genre

Fair enough. Thanks for being honest. To be frank, I don't really know what the hell this is. I've never tried to make a song that fits into a particular genre, I just let ideas evolve as they want. Choosing "trip hop" was just a desperate, vague attempt to categorise one. It does possess elements of it, but it possesses elements of lots of stuff in addition...

Most people don't like my music. I'm finally comfortable with that. ;)

I actually quite liked it..Think it could be rearranged as something sugary and upbeat..nice sounds :)

Hey, thanks. It's still only a demo at the moment - I recorded the vocals on a shitty old, battered cheap dynamic mic. Plus, I wasn't really giving my best performance vocally. I might re-record the vocals in my local studio when I get the spare cash. Could probably get it done in an hour.

Why not check out my other stuff? It's quite a random mix of styles and arrangements. Probably not everyone's cup of tea (I don't like most of them myself these days), but there's a fair bit of sonic variety.

The music was okay, but the drums or packet of rice or whatever that noise is, was drowning out your voice and the other music. Also I am not sure if the voice and that particular music really worked well together. But don't listen to what I say, I don't know how you make songs.

Good ears! Well, actually it was a plastic Strepsils tube filled with brown sugar. Too loud you say? Fair enough, I'll take that on board.

You might not play an instrument or record music, but your opinion is just as valid as the next man's. After all, all musicians offer their works for the appraisal of the populace as a whole. You are, after all, a member of the record-buying public.

Brown suger? Are you serious? Why would you use that?

Edit: I mean why would you use that to make music? Not why would you use it in general. It is supposed to have all the natural goodness left in it. Which is why as a kid I hated it.
