Karlprof told me on MSN that he's been IP banned.

The topic in question.

He was being an awful banana split in fairness.

I think it was the trolling and unwarranted personal attacks that did it.

Since hitting puberty Karlprof hasn't been as cool. Or as sexy.

Karlprof brings the kind of inconsiderate, condescending, sarcastic, immature comedy that I like to this place.

I don't think he should have been banned. He was being a dick, but this is the internet, people will be dicks.

He was banned because we was arguing the merits of PC gaming to a crowd that did not want to concede a damn thing in their argument. He probably got annoyed with the fact that arguments against consisted of classics like "PC gaming sucks because my PC chair isn't comfy".

Furthermore no warning was made in the thread, the mod team should be ashamed of themselves, really.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I'm not ashamed.

I'd be ashamed if I had sent karlprof to prison and he was innocent.

But I'm not ashamed. This is an internet forum full of people I've never met. You're making this sound like the biggest injustice the world has ever seen.

The way to deal with that is not to start mocking people who have just lost their job though. Laugh it off and explain why it's wrong and make a constructive argument.

The "location" argument is a valid one, though, for many people. Sofa + lounge + HDTV > office room + hard chair + monitor. Some people manage to get elements of the former into the latter (Karlprof's leather chair, for example). Good for them. Doesn't change the argument for people who like gaming in the lounge.

Today's banning is tomorrow's chip-paper. The same will be true for KP.

Not true, there's at least 8 signatures on the petition.

The KP/Winckle double act has produced some wonderful put-downs over the past couple of weeks, I have to say - I've loved the entertainment. I suppose it does become a little irritating that the spoilt little brats have such a sharp wit, but the two of them have emerged from their recent vituperative splurge as two of the best people on this forum to consult when building a powerful PC, cheaply. In my view, anyway.

KP'll be back before anyone really starts to care, anyway. In the meantime it should be amusing to see Winckle's Violet shrink.

He has been a member of Grcade and before that Gamesradar for long enough to know what is and isn't acceptable without having to recieve a warning.

Freud? Nah. How about some Jung? *Ahem* It's OK, you can give it a rest. I know you're just trying to establish an edgy, caustic identity in an effort to survive all on your own when you do eventally stop relying on your parents for all your worldly needs.

That any good?

I can't remember him doing anything banworthy recently. Can I have an example?

I'd like some too. He's unorthodox, but that's to be expected on an Internet forum. I'd hate to think he was banned because a select few (who just happen to have a say on this place) don't like it.

I just wanted to post that gif, I have no idea what he's done. I've not really noticed him posting all that much either but I'm going to get my knickers in a twist.
