A reminder of the rules on images, and our banning policy

Rightio, so some forumites are complaining that certain pornographic pictures/GIFs have been "let go" by the mods, while others have resulted in someone's banning. These forumites seem to think this means that mod decisions on these matters are arbitrary.

They are not.

In fact, what has happened for the remaining pics/GIFs is that the mods haven't been made aware of them, and we don't check every single post for offending material like Cal thinks da polees do in real life.

Therefore, let me remind you of the rules: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=959

These clearly state that posting pornographic images or linking to pornographic websites will land you a temporary ban, the length of which is at the mods' discretion.

So don't be fuck-ups all your lives, eh?

Anyone who is railing against a specific ban when the perpetrator of another outrage got off scot-free, can PM a mod with a link to the offending post in question and we'll take a look at it.

In the meantime, if we can stop the "WHY IS SO AND SO BANNED?!" threads every single time we ban anyone, it'd be nice. We don't take these decisions lightly. No, not even with Karlprof.

So, what's happening with Sarge regarding all those porno gifs he has posted in the not-too-distant past?

He got a week's ban for them back then.

Who complains anyway? Or why? If they're in spoiler boxes, you look at your own consent.

I'm sure I've seen more since the ban. I would look back through the Pictures/Gifs thread, but that would take strawberry floating ages, and I'm tired.

In fact I would love for you to go through each page and link to any banned gifs/images I have posted in there since my ban.

I actually took the liberty of doing a brief search of the P/G thread, and found some reaction posts. To what appeared to be you posting a smiley. Now, normally when someone posts a single smiley, the reaction tends not to be "Jesus Christ, <<username>> "

I smell foul play.

The strawberry float are you lots doing grassing each other up and snitching? If you get banned for something, don't bring another forumite into it. It just means more rules will be clarified and set in stone. It's in forumites best interests to not snitch and try and get full clarification on a matter that has not been discussed or mentioned in the rules beforehand. And if it's already set in stone...don't snitch. It's bad.

FYI, I don't delete any gifs/images I post...even if they are against the forum rules. Which explains why I was banned the last time.
