I'm installing a new PSU in my rig and I'm scared to move forward. Either the manual is unclear, or anxiety about strawberry floating this up is making me stupid headed. Is this right?

I'm guessing this is right because it makes the most sense to me, but I could be stupid at the moment.

Edit:
What is cable management?

I'm gonna have to do something about that or I literally won't be able to put the panel back on. :fp:

All the best with OSC, I'll light the Bert-signal.

I will likely be joining you in the ranks of nervous builder shortly. I have now purchased all my parts (exactly what bertie said to, thanks again) and now we wait.

I am nervous but excited. Still need to get a decent monitor, capture card and webcam but I'm less stressed about getting that stuff, haha.

Thanks again everyone, your tips were extremely helpful.

I'm fairly sure that's right (both PSU and mobo have the full 24 pin connectors so both 20 and 4 pin plugs should be used), don't quote me on that though as I've only ever 'supervised' PCs being built.

The part that confuses me is the PSU connector pins seem to total 28. But then there are wires not going into like 2 of the holes so more like 26?

Edit: I figured it was most likely exactly as it should be and I was worrying for nothing, so I plugged it in and flipped the switch on the PSU and... the power went out (well, one circuit breaker flipped).

The PC is on now and everything seems fine (with the one change that the PS5 is now off instead of in rest mode... )

I’ve bought from that link before and no issue and you can change the currency. Good build. The board is a little basic, but that’s ok. Sometimes Amazon do offers on the 5500, 5600 and 5700 (all non x) and these can be really good prices. They are cheaper as they are not quite as good as the x chips but it’s just a slightly lower clock speed and limited overclock potential.

Other bits, depending on how many fans are in the case, one more for the top back. Some thermal paste (get mx-4), some alcohol wipes (noctua Do 20 for £8) and a usb stick as you might need to flash the bios before it will take a 5000 chip.

So on the PSU side there might be 2 connectors. Board side is normally just the one. There will only be one mobo cable In the PSU box. If one end has 2 parts that should be mobo side and there will be 2 slots in the PSU right next to each other.

I was considering it, yes! Would have to buy a webcam first though, but I'll need it for the new PC so may do that.

If I do it won't be til December, won't have all the bits until the end of this month. Although the Fuma fan just showed up, an impressive 6 hours after I ordered it.

Also I went for the half black half white case, which I think looked snazzy.

The free thermal paste you'll get with the CPU cooler will be fine.

The free thermal paste you'll get with the CPU cooler will be fine.

However the tension of applying thermal paste out of a tube will make for a more entertaining stream.

We could run a book on what pattern he goes for when applying the paste!
