Mainly because I've always wanted to fly in a first class front line fighter jet like the Eurofighter or Mig 29 and this is the closest I'm ever going to get but yes maybe I shouldn't get excited and it's going to turn out gooseberry fool.
Or maybe just for once I can have a tiny bit of optimism and hope this will turn out to be as glorious as I hope even if it is short and not the full game in VR.

I'm going with hope  .

That's fair enough.

I hope it's good too, just wish it was out sooner.

Argos have got the Thrustmaster HOTAS stick on clearance at £37.99 at the moment. Might be worth picking up for the full VR experience (assuming it's compatible with Ace Combat).

No, the original Air Combat released in the arcades in 1992 and PlayStation in 1995

Will the series ever reach the altitude of Ace Combat 4 again? I'd be happy with an HD remake of that to be honest.

I am going to be so sick and I just can't wait. I might also subscribe to Spotify just so I can play some Kenny Loggins in game.

Nice little pre-order bonus

Bandai Namco has substantially sweetened the deal if you pre-order Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on PS4. The game is looking excellent, as evidenced by the above new trailer, but in case that wasn't quite enough for you, the publisher has announced that pre-ordered copies will also include Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (or Squadron Leader, depending on where you are). Pre-orders will also get the F4-E Phantom II aircraft, along with three skins.

Hopefully you can buy AC5 separately as I'll probably get this on PC. If you pre-order on Xbox you get AC6 instead so presumably that'll be hitting back compat soon, been hoping for that for ages.

Isn't Ace Combat 5 a PS2 game?

Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (full game, delivered at launch)

Well, um, thanks for delivering a game for a console I don't own.

I'd have preferred a model of a real aircraft like the Eurofighter or F-35.

150 sheets? GTF. I remember when the standard edition of F-19 on ST came with 2 books the size of doorstops. That's how you do flying game boxes.
