You can. It just warns you that there will be plot spoilers.

It shows its age somewhat in how simple it is and the graphics don't do much to add a new charm to it. However it's still great fun to just blast through missions. Seems dumb that you can't play randos online. Shame you can't just skip to AW2 as well as I'm sure that would feel a bit fresher and having to blast through the original first might end up meaning people get tired before getting to it.

£50 is far too high a price for this imo, it should be £30 or £40. It's a rather low effort remake and the originals were GBA games after all and are pretty ancient at this point.

It should have been priced in line with Metroid Prime HD in my opinion, especially without a proper online mode.

Encountering a weird bug every so often where the joycons continue to vibrate after a vehicle combat scene is over.

Luckily starting a new combat seems to get rid of it but I was confused for a while with what was causing it.

Someone mentioned early the bazooka troops will use rifles when fighting other soldiers? I used the Bazooka guys again the opponents missile launcher but again they only use rifles and not bazookas…..is this a bug?

Their bazooka only have limited ammunition, 3 shots I think, so they could be out of ammo in which case they will use rifles?

Finished the first game now, quite enjoyed the new animated cutscenes honestly. They're pretty charming. Looking forward to getting stuck into 2.

Ahh ok, that makes sense then, I’ll have to keep an eye on the ammo.

Makes me laugh how Orange Star straight up invade Kanbei's region and make out like they're just passing through.

Yeah, this is hilarious, they act all shocked when Kanbei takes exception to them marching in

Forgot this was coming out in April, just bought it off Shopto. I look forward to still being complete gooseberry fool at this game.

Can't get my head around the idea that £40 for remakes of two games being uplifted from a handheld is questionable, yet £50+ for Resident Evil 4 - a game that didn't even need a remake - is just a given.

I suspect the Resi 4 Remake cost a tad more to make....

There’s so much wrong with that opinion I don’t even know where to start.

From a consumer perspective - who cares?

But it explains people's feeling towards them. Resi 4 is a full triple AAA production, no one should be expecting that a reduced rate.

Whereas while Advance Wars is a fairly well put together remake, they've clearly cut a few corners with the lack of proper online and some performance issues. And while its 2 games, remaking the second once you've done the first isn't a huge amount of extra work.

Given Metroid Prime HD launched around £30-£35, I think a £35-£40 starting price for this would have been reasonable.

Finished Advance Wars 1 campaign with an A rank overall. Did the final battle in 22 days which was a lot better than the 36 it took me to do the level before lmao

Digital prices on these games are out of whack anyway, you can generally get these games for £40 at launch if you go physical.
