She seems a talented actress, I look forward to seeing more of her.

It'll be set just after WWII which is still WWII era imo, it was the cleanup period where the world was strawberry floated.

That'll be the post-war period then. :fp:

Some early reviews -

twitter.com/EricIGN/status/550859177472442368

Agent Peggy Carter is a marvelous addition to the cool women characters now prowling TV screens. And “Marvel’s Agent Carter” is a strong second show from ABC’s partnership with Marvel Comics. 4/5 stars

Agent Carter still isn’t as enjoyable as Marvel’s recent movies, but the first two episodes are promising, with far more style and wit than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has shown in quite a while. 3.5/5 stars

Regardless of ratings, “Agent Carter” is a welcome, interesting entry, a far cry from the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” large ensemble and a welcome opportunity to put a woman front and center. In addition, the 1940s production design is admirably detailed and deep, from costumes to computer-generated sets and backgrounds.

Some more reviews before tonights double episode debut -

But on the whole, Atwell is so good, and the show has so much fun with the period setting, that it's a really promising start for "Agent Carter" — and also a very encouraging sign for all the upcoming Marvel TV shows. B+

Marvel’s synergistic efforts remain one of its assets, but transforming a supporting player in “Captain America,” played by Hayley Atwell, into the star of a limited ABC series was inordinately opportunistic even by its standards, and as it turns out, a pretty smart bet. That’s because the combination of the British actress and post-World War II setting make the Marvel-branded vehicle, “Agent Carter,” considerable fun, and in some ways more promising than the series it’s replacing, the uneven “Agents of SHIELD.” While there’s no assurance this spinoff will have legs, the opening salvo is worthy of a hearty “Hail, ‘Carter.’”

Meanwhile, an answer to that question -- "Who's Peggy?" Atwell is. Emphatically so. Watch her through "Agent Carter's" smoky blurred lens and you almost suspect she was born a century too late, and would've turned even LB's or Jack Warner's cynical, seen-'em-all heads. She dons a blond wig and suddenly Veronica Lake is evoked. Goes back to brunette, and there's a distant reflection of Jane Russell or Hedy Lamarr. Fanboys will swoon. Maybe even a critic or two. GRADE B+

Carter's aiming for something between His Girl Friday, Dick Tracey, and Alias —a tough tonal mixture, especially on a weekly broadcast budget. But Atwell's firing on all cylinders. The season runs for eight episodes, and I'll be watching them all in hopes that Agent Carter can live up to Agent Carter. B+

By setting the story in 1946, this new short-run series immediately gets a snappy, well-tailored, Hollywood-glamour look that separates it from most of TV's offerings, And by building it closely around Hayley Atwell's smart, tough, dryly humorous Peggy Carter, the show (Tuesday, 8 p.m. ET/PT, * * * out of four) gets the streamlined benefit of a strong, easy-to-identify central character.

Loved the first two eps. Peggy is a deeply charismatic and likeable lead and Jarvis was good too.

If the rest of the season is just Peggy dressing up in new outfits, I'd be cool with it.

Very enjoyable couple of episodes, quite a few fun scenes especially the fight combined with the radio play. Peggy & Jarvis were very good. Wasn't very keen on her SSR colleagues other than the ever reliable Enver Gjokaj. Also good to see Bubbles however briefly. Hopefully they expand the role of Lyndsy Fonseca but I doubt it with only 6 eps left.

Weirdly it doesn't look like it's being picked up over here, I would have thought it would have had better ratings here than a show like Agents of SHIELD.

Would have thought Five would have been after it. I would say channel 4 too but they always seem pretty clueless when it comes to stuff like this.

Yeah I really enjoyed that. I know they've only got this one mini series so far, but there's so much potential for future seasons as well.

Jarvis is brilliant

Hayley Atwell though, strawberry floating hell

I'm surprised Netflix haven't picked it up.
