Alan Wake was still good on the old 360 lads! :shifty:

Its the same game after all, just in lower res. :)

Post some High Res screenies for my tired eyes, love to see it all HD'd up the shizzle.

It's the lighting and effects that make Alan Wake look so good, I'm really looking forward to this tomorrow as I recently finished all the DLC.

According to Eurogamer, Alan Wake won't come out on PS3, for no real reason. :?

Alan Wake is exculsive to MS, isn't it?

That's what I was gonna say, Microsoft seem to publish it at the moment (although I'm not sure who published the PC version).

It's basically the only decent exclusive (outside of the 'big 3') Microsoft have left.

Nope, This game could have come out on PSN if they could be bothered but apparantly its the engine - based on 360 malarky.

This forum is clueless sometimes.
Eurogamer wrote:But why not create American Nightmare for PlayStation Network as well as XBLA? Remedy is the Alan Wake IP holder after all.

"We didn't develop for PlayStation because our engine is customised for Xbox, not to say we couldn't ever do PlayStation, but it just would have required a lot more work to then start doing it for PlayStation," Hakkinen said.

I'm sure the first one was a publishing deal with MS, hence no ps version but i'd imagine this could then.

as Frank says the exclusive pool aside from gear, halo, fable, l4d, crackdown, Witcher 2, Metro, rare games, kinect games and a ton of xbla stuff is smaller now that if we added in the stuff from early on. I'm guessing it might be because that is being addressed for the next gen as it isn't really a factor this late in.

That might also explain why it's taken so long for a PC version to turn up. Some kind of timed-exclusive style contract with MS. Although I bet that part of the reason it's taken so long is finding someone to publish the PC version.

I'm surprised Microsoft haven't actually got Alan Wake as an exclusive yet. Maybe they're waiting to see how American Nightmare goes...

Eurogamer keep asking Remedy about a PS3 version though, haha, this isn't the first time they asked. Anytime they do an interview they ask. :fp:

Just finished it. Not sure the people who complained about the original being repetitive are going to find this much better... :shifty: The soundtrack is every bit as good as the original, though. There's even a decent use of Kasabian in there

Yeah, my brother got a code for it a few days ago. I'm too busy with Uni to review stuff now, so I just get to play things early

I think MS had dibs on it, but passed after lacklustre sales. They've been de-emphasing exclusives in recent years, and "Wake" was one of their last big exclusives, but they let it slide after canning the PC release.

Compare it to Limbo (which was also a 1200 point game) and it doesn't :shifty: it's about 5 or 6 hours for a playthrough but, like the original you'll probably have to play it more than once.
