Cut scenes are quite wooden compared to today's stuff but gameplay is aces.

Overrated, but worth a play. The plot/story is a load of old bobbins.

I played through it on release, thought it was mediocre at best, I was so bored most of the time.

I always liked the look of it. Thanks for the heads up.

I thought it was really good, which is the majority view.

Yes?

+1 for the story being great. An Alan Wake sequel is one of my biggest wishes for E3. Can't really fathom why it hasn't happened yet.

Bought it and plan to start it tonight, mainly in for the spooky atmosphere

There's an Xbox backwards compatibility sale starting tomorrow - I'm guessing the chances of this being included in that are pretty high.

Not if its being delisted today, surely? Best look out for a physical copy before the price hikes up.

Played the first chapter last night, those faces :dread:

Game is gorgeous otherwise, pretty amazingly optimised PC port. I really dig the setup+atmosphere and how suitably tense the combat is, though I'm not entirely sold on the protagonist's frequent narration so far...plus the weird enemies would probably be scarier if they weren't so talkative.

Like it overall, will keep at it!

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this game and the story wasn't bad either, unfortunately I really disliked the combat and it dragged down the whole experience for me.

If you're interested, Quantum Break can be had for under £7 and comes with a free digital copy of Alan Wake too. Obviously you don't have to worry about the deadline this way too.

I remember this being a really bad advert for Energizer batteries. I mean product placement is understandable but they were always running out making them look like gooseberry fool batteries.

Oh yeah that's right. Not great timing on their part, could have made a few quid easily.

Should do as it's already sold to the distributer and is a loophole in new copies being sold. Same as any new sealed copies on the shelves in bricks and mortar stores (they can still be sold as new, but no new discs can be manufactured unless the offending material causing the licence issue is removed)

I've bought Foza DLC before that was removed from the Xbox store but still had codes available to buy online
