...And even then I suspect you set the bar a bit low. It's true, though, that whatever this game is going to be it will inevitably fail to meet expectations. The history of this franchise is littered with the shredded corpses of those games which gone before and almost all utterly failed to do the IP any justice whatsoever.

My advice: forget about this game (whatever it is or isn't) until after it's finally released (if it ever is)...then wait for Jim Sterling's review. If anyone's going to be gunning for the next Alien/s game, it's Jim Sterling (who is a massive Aliens fan), after the debacle of Colonial Marines and the total public mauling he was forced to give it on release for being so completely, utterly sh*t in just about every possible way.

Be nice if someone made a decent Alien game but I can't see this being it.

I want one to recreate the feel of Aliens where you feel outnumbered in a small squad and have to fight for your lives against hordes of the strawberry floaters...

Couldn't they make an Alien game in the style of something like Amnesia and have you going about a ship on trying to escape from it? You could be in contact with other people on the ship via radio and have chatting going on with the occasional death, so screams coming over the radios. That could work, it'd be suspenseful too.

Day 1. Part of the problem I know, but seriously it can't get any worse than Colon Cleansing Marines can it?

Yup. Even paying £1.50 for the DLC was too much :dread:

The Ex bought me the game for Valentines day. Probably for the best that she's now the Ex..

Apparently there's only one Alien for most of the game, so I can't see there being much shooting going on. Sounds a lot more like a survival horror than a typical first person shooter action game.

I wouldn't be surprised if you play the majority of the game without a gun.

Buying a video game based on the Alien films is like returning to a violent partner.

I don't know why they don't just do a Slender-style episodic thing. You wouldn't even need a gun; you just have to make your way around the ship turning on the 8 crystal warp flux capacitor macguffins while being stalked by one alien. It'd be dirt cheap to make.

That looks alright, eh?! Got a touch of the Dead Space and System Shock about it, which can only be good.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.
