I like how the calendar girl in one of those pictures is wearing exactly the same pants as Ripley wore at the end of Alien. That's attention to detail, right there.

I don't want to seem picky, but shouldn't the character's hands look a bit rougher, and less like he's on his way to model the Wii Remote for Nintendo's next magazine ad campaign?

Let's hope there's no driving sections then :dread:

As I mentioned in the Outlast thread, if this game can replicate the sheer terror of that game with the added awesomeness of the xenomporph then I'm quietly confident that it can be a good gaming experience. Here's hoping...

I know exactly what you mean. Until Creative Assembly starts coughing up considerably more details about the game it's going to be impossible to know. Isolation will either understand what it's trying to do (stealth survival horror?) or it will fall flat on its face in the attempt.

No other game I'm waiting for gives me more cause to doubt its eventual worth.

I'm pretty sure there will at least be half a good game in there, it just depends if CA can withstand the temptation to throw combat sections, or too many combat sections, at you.

Posted this in the bargain's thread last night. I've gone for it. Fingers crossed the game's good and there's no problems with the retailer/region locking.

Anyone else on here go to Rezzed in Birmingham? They had this at the show (pretty much the only "big" upcoming release). It's absolutely terrifying. At least when played with overly-loud surround sound headphones in a pitch black room sitting about a foot away from a 60 inch TV.

One thing I thought it was missing was a "distract" button, like in the Last of Us, where you can throw bottles and stuff to distract the enemies so you can sneak past. If the Xenomorph is in between you and where you've gotta go, you just seem to have to wait it out until it leaves.

Still, I'm interested in it now. Seems to do a pretty good job of recreating the atmosphere from Alien. Not sure how much I'll play of it when it actually comes out, though. I died about six times in the space of the twenty minute demo :shifty: Wondering how well they'll tie it in with the rest of the Alien lore, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Also, they announced the release date over the weekend - October the 7th!

This game sounds like Outlast set on a spaceship with the Alien. Is that the kind of thing they're going for? I hope so, I quite liked Outlast and feeling completely helpless.

If you want a more in-depth talk about how they achieved the lo-fi VHS look (they recorded game footage, UI, etc on actual VHS; like I used to with Max Payne 1 on my Xbox :D ) and other aspects of the game, watch their EGX Rezzed developer session:

Great video, thanks. So looking forward to this game. I dare not allow myself to believe that, at last, we have a bunch of devs who actually 'get it'...but, damn, it's starting to look very promising, indeed... Love the fact they show a mood board on 'proper' Alien corridors!
