I'm in the medical bay bit.

I'm usually good at stealth games but I'm getting pasted on this bit, hadn't died once before this bit :x

That's what I was trying to do, lead it off in one direction only for it to magically appear on the other side of a wall, strawberry floating thing.

One thing I think people don't utilize enough, even myself for that matter are your tools. Using noise makers, flares anything to distract can give you a good time frame to move to a new location. Always be aware of hiding places where you are, so if you do hear it moving about in the vents then hear it drop down you can quickly hide. Always move crouched if it's near by, staying low will conceal you pretty well even if it's in close proximity. just try to avoid it directly and you should be good. I'm playing this on hard and I agree that the medical labs area has been the most challenging thus far.

That's exactly what I've been doing

I used noise maker to get it to one end of the bay, crept away, got to my objective then it just appears outside the door (heard the noise) so I hid as it was my only option, it ran in looked at the locker, I pulled back and used L2 but it still got me.

Med Bay wasn't that bad (On Medium here) and it got me once while I was hiding under a bed because I was facing it as it strolled down the corridor, figured cause I was 'hiding' it would carry on right by me but I was mistaken when it made a shriek and pelted it down the corridor to drag me out from under the bed :fp:

Had 1 gooseberry fool moment in the Synthetics lab, saw a bunch of humans so went down a floor vent to work my way around them and as I opened the exit floor vent the Alien was just standing there and insta-killed me :dread:

I made a little progress tonight but I'm still not out of the medical bit.

3 humans, stood chatting, coughing etc, nothing happens to them. I walk behind them in to a room and the alien appears and insta kills me from the ceiling, but hadn't been triggered by the humans. Next reload, alien kills humans, kills me. Next reload, it finds me as the save loads. Next reload I just think strawberry float it and forget the stealth, and literally stroll through the entire area without seeing any of the humans or the alien I know is there

Triggered the next part of the level, alien comes out of a vent right in front of me killing and sending me back to the save point.

Jesus titty strawberry floating Christ :x

That part I sneaked under another bed and watched as the Alien dropped from a vent and murdered the humans with one guy running past my hiding spot shooting at the Alien and it stomped after him leaving a trail of acid blood along the floor.

The game hates you :slol:

Yeah. In my playthrough I used a noisemaker to bring the alien down right on top of the humans, giving me a chance to move on and take them out at the same time.

In a different section, a group of humans started shooting at me only to bring the alien down on themselves! I just his and let them to it. :)

That's the exact bit! Hide under a bed, alien gets the humans which looked great, then the next time I tried it they just stood around making noise but it was nowhere to be seen until I moved and it just appeared and killed me.

I'm currently on the bit where you need to get a Keycode and then a keycard and you have to visit a few rooms on the Doctors rounds. Is this the Medbay bit people are talking about?

Probably had about 20 attempts so far, but loving it all.

I'm just past that part, I have to visit operating theatre and bring back equipment. It's a relatively short walk to get the equipment and head back to save point but the Alien is finding me no matter where I hide. :x

I'm at the end (or what feels to be) of that part and something happens which pretty much says "LOL now run!!" So I run and get shot and killed by a human, or I run and the alien appears out of nowhere and kills me.

Despite lol run I suspect I should lol crouch and crawl to the end and get killed just before I can save.

I hid and let the Alien take care of him before it vanished back into the vents. What system you playing this on?

I might have the Psychic Alien also then cos ill play the level perfectly, the Alien will kill the humans and never see me then i get the equipment and alien on the prowl so I hide in locker in main hallway, he'll walk past, make some 'scare the bejesus out of me' snorting sounds not unlike the raptors from Jurassic Park and then come back and sniff my locker (oo-er) I hold my breathe and lean back and Ripley sounds like a mouse vomitting and boom, Alien pulls off door and kills me. Every. Single. Time.

I'd like to see an animation of it actually sniffing a locker thats empty, it'd make the AI more believable.

I had my PC hooked up to my new TV playing this over the weekend. Playing at 3K resolution downsampled on a 40" 1080p screen, this game is so strawberry floating gorgeous at times. The lighting is incredible.

Yeah im on medical but got past the bit where have to find where doc done his rounds, im on the bit directly after it (just after the gas pipe explodes). It's 'only' 1080p on Xbox One but looks incredible, again, as you say, the lighting is brilliant.

Bought this on a whim yesterday and was surprised to see it's defaulted to nearly all settings on ultra. My graphics card is beginning to age at this point but it looks nice.

It's not exactly a game to put on to destress is it?

Finally did that strawberry floating medical bay bit :datass:

Turns out just walking around in the open gets you killed far less than being cautious and stealthy

Fixing some lift now.

How does the alien detect you in this then? A combination of sight and sound?

Yeah, it roams around but homes in on noises.

Or just appears next to the room you're in despite you luring it far away and there being no logical reason for it to be there :simper:

On my way out of the Med Bay the Aline basically stuck to the vents and would run along to each vent I was coming to and I'd see the slime drip down alerting me it was there and I just crouch-walked my way out of that level.

That pesky Aline :dread:

I use the tracker a lot and whenever you see it move very fast on the tracker its in the vents.
