Turns out just walking around in the open gets you killed far less than being cautious and stealthy

Fixing some lift now.

Was the med bay bit you were having trouble on chapter 5? I've just done that in one go, though I am on normal.

I am on medium :fp:

As I said, I've now found that just walking around as normal and hiding when it appears is better than being cautious and scanning, on that part at least.

The atmosphere is amazing in this, absolutely nails that 70s futuristic look.

For the circular bit where you were looking for the keycard I kept hiding in the rooms whenever the alien was near me in the corridor. Oh the tension. :dread: The atmosphere is spot on and I love the retro computers.

Jump scares :(

A gas pipe just exploded next to me and I nearly had a heart attack.

Right after this bit I found a small room with a computer which played a video file when I used it. When the cutscene had finished, the alien was standing in front of the desk facing away from me. :dread: Thankfully for reasons best known to itself it jumped up in a vent instead of turning around.

Alien: Isolation 'Corporate Lockdown' DLC announced

So far, the base game of Alien: Isolation is proving to be all the crippling terror I need. Eventually, though, I'll emerge from my locker, and make my way through the game. And then? Well, there'll be more game. Creative Assembly has announced 'Corporate Lockdown'; Isolation's first add-on content. It will add three new maps for the game's survivor mode—each expanding the Sevastopol's story.

"In ‘Corporate Lockdown’, Seegson Executive Ransome has learnt that he has been abandoned by his paymasters," explains the press release. "Knowing that the Torrens is on the way, he decides to make his escape and hitch a ride on board, taking decoded Nostromo data with him. However, while escaping he wants to tie up a few loose ends."

In addition to the maps, the add-on will introduce Gauntlet mode—challenging players to complete all three Survivor challenges back-to-back without dying. Back to the locker, then.

Corporate Lockdown is due out 28 October, costing £5.59 / $8. It'll be followed by four subsequent packs.

I think this might also be the first of the DLC packs included in the Season Pass..?

I think im just about done with the medical place. I have to run to exit, i failed after 1 try but I have it saved just before. I ended up walking about not using the motion detector and done part I was stuck on in one go. I hid when I seen the alien behind boxes and stuff and a couple of times got lucky as he would stop and walk away just when he was bout to see me. Glad to be going somewhere new anyway.

This game really, really pissed me off last night. I’m on the bit where you have to lock down stairwells, corridors and server hub etc. Yep I did, got to the bit where you have to enter a four digit code, then the Alien turned up. I was hidden, or so I thought, and it killed me. No save points between all three objectives?? So yeah, I can live with that so off I toodle to do the three objectives again. This time I get to the server hub, only to be sent elsewhere to do another objective and Mr. Alien pops out of nowhere and kills me. Again, no save points around. Have to do all that again……Which to me pretty much is summing up this game and is becoming tedious. And I still maintain this game isn’t fun. It’s more of a good looking/ sounding chore.

This was the bit I was just complaining about, it's incredibly annoying. The android in the stairwell by the server hub door doesn't attack you until you've locked down two areas so ignore him initially. Save at the sercurity room right before the stairwell room, lockdown one area then go back to the security room and save again. Lockdown the second area in the room at the top of the stairs and get the flamethrower out as the xeno normally attacks at this point. Use the final console by the server room and head inside, there's a save point close by in here.
