I didn't die in that bit, somewhat miraculously

Also If that's the bit with a save point by a ladder I just saved between each step even though it said enemies were close. strawberry float da police.

Yeah I haven't got to that bit but I save non stop. If I find some decent loot I'll save..

Done the flashback sequence earlier, just that small action-less section was better than the whole of Colonial Marines :slol:

A very nicely produced tome - my feeble pics don't do it any justice. A bit of a collector's item, I suspect. Lots of great art and design from the game and the film. Some beautiful renders of the sets and ships as well as production sketches and storyboards and some commentary from the developers throughout.

Had to reload to an earlier save due to a glitch stopping me progressing. Was in the Marshal's office and the Marshal chap wouldn't budge after that sequence so the door to the flamethrower wouldn't open :|

I'd had an idea too about the Aliens search pattern too. If you run even once and attract the Alien it seems to non-stop actively seek you out, which happened to me after getting the flamethrower. After getting munched on and starting that area again I walked and sneaked and it hasn't appeared so far just zipped about the vents.

Yeah, it pays to go out of your way a bit to save the game from time to time. It's designed so that you have to take a risk either way.

I just finished it! There's an impressive about of variety packed into the game, although it wouldn't have hurt it if it was a little shorter. I didn't feel it was too long either though.

Finished it on Saturday, loved every minute. The sound and atmosphere is spot on. My GOTY for sure.

I'm at the annoying bit with the flamethrower and locking down stuff, I say annoying as in other people have said it is but I love it. The lighting is superb and walking about with the flamethrower feels like the end of Aliens, so bad ass. :datass:

The fan service is amazing.
When you play as that dude in the cell and arrive at the space ship and the space jockey....its just all stunning and spot on with the original movie. I was awestruck as the alien ship came into focus out of the clouds and dust.

Wore headphones while playing this level yesterday. This was ill-advised. :dread:

So at the start of the bit where you have to start locking down things I think i encountered a glitch. It may not be but I think its kinda game breaking. So you make it back to the room with the metal detectors and to your left is the room back at the start where the 4 people are walking about. And you have to use elevator at opposite end of the room.

To the right though there's a door with a window to the side, back at the start it was locked but its now open. When you walk in the whole room blows up and as you stagger back to your feet an android on strawberry floating FIRE comes at you, anyway, killed the android and it says turn on the sprinklers but all the doors are now locked and I couldnt locate them, if walk back in where fire is you pass out and die. I was stunning to see graphically but after a while I just ignored it...Still have no idea what it was about.

When the room explodes, go in the next room and the sprinkler switch is on the wall. You probably died due to lack of oxygen.

If I enter the room I die at the door.

Not sure if I'm in the right bit, but once the room explodes, all the doors are locked, isn't there a steps you climb up on to?

That's the bit at the end of San Christobel Medical in like chapter 5.

Just completed this with a Steam playtime of 20 hours but some of that will be the Ripley DLC. I enjoyed it a lot but I probably won't ever play it again.

8/10

Did the lab section earlier, was brilliant. Unlike you though Brer I had near 400 units for the flamethrower :datass:

Done a bit of exploring before reaching the lab section and got fuel and upgrade plans.

That's what I love about the game. Exploring helps alot but the pay off sometimes isn't worth it since exploration means more time in an area in which the alien can get you. The rewards are great but so are the risks. Perfectly suited to this game too.
