Completed it. 8-) Goddamn, those last 3 or so hours were pure brilliant. Everything from the core onwards. The very, very final bit was slightly gooseberry fool, though. The visuals, sound and atmosphere were like nothing I've ever experienced in a game. They nailed the look and feel of the movie like no other adaptation has.

I just wish it wasn't so fetch quest-y and drawn out. It's my only complaint about the game. I let out a huge sigh when I thought I was at the end only for it to suddenly extend by another 20 minutes or so.

Yeah the end extension was pathetic and was so gamey it just killed a lot of the atmosphere dead.

Surprised you blasted through it so quick, took me about a month. Mind you I did spend several weeks just staring at the beauty of it all.

It's hands down one of the best games I've ever played.

You should hear some of the gooseberry fool they sling at it on Gametrailers. I think they're editor on chief has the worst taste in games I've ever seen for a reputable games website.

It got some absurdly harsh reviews state side, yes the Alien can kill you unfairly at times it the game attempts something new and refreshing and almost succeeds. Criticising the games length is laughable, yes later on there is some back tracking but on the Sevastopol that's a bonus.

One of the best movie franchise games ever made imo. It's a work of art.

Totally agreed. I was initially put off by people talking negatively about the ending but I loved it from beginning to end.

Had a couple of cheap deaths but I don't know how the game could work any other way. The constant fear of death is what gave it such a great atmosphere.

Got this for £16.50 with Games for Gold.

Think I've nearly finished it now, just been in the Apollo bit.

Really enjoying it. Started off on hard difficulty as generally I like to play games on the hardest setting. Got to a bit where I just felt the Alien was around you no matter what. Didn't think this felt particularly fair.

For me, the game is more about progressing the story, exploring the place and enjoying the atmosphere/scenery rather than "gameplay" and stealth as in just avoiding something is not something I particularly enjoy so switched it to easy. It's still instant death when the Alien sees you just it doesn't just seem to be there no matter what you do.

Thinking of doing a replay of this on twitch having just rewatched the film. Got it on hard and was going to attempt a platinum run until I realised you can't die :dread:

I think this game is a triumph. The Sevastapol is this generations Rapture. A compellingly brilliant game.

Having had this in my Steam Library for a year and barely touching it I've finally made a start.
Just got to the part where I've disabled the security lockdown and the Alien first appeared :dread:

Straight to the save point and exit. I don't think I can handle this game in more than half hour sessions :shifty:

Believe it or not you eventually 'get used' to the Alien, the terror never fully leaves you but it subsides over time.

Then two of them show up. :dread: I actually found the androids scarier in some parts too, especially those strawberry floaters in hazmat suits.

Scary, but infuriating when it comes to gameplay. When you have to avoid about 50 of them :dread:

Although scary, I didn't mind the Androids, at least you could kill the strawberry floaters! I often used mines and stuff to explode them.

So after my last attempt ended up getting aborted I really am playing through this now.

I've just blasted the alien into the gas giant and got back to the station, only to find the Androids have gone full psycho :dread:
So much for just running around noisily everywhere now.
Plus I wouldn't be surprised for either the alien to have got back somehow, or there were two all along.....

Incredible sound design in that section. Play it with headphones and in the dark.
