I know we're not supposed to believe in the hype (It's a sequel (that's a musical reference for all you young whippersnappers which may be a first for me)) but what games are you well and truly boarding the train to hype town for?

For me it has to be Forza Horizon 4.

I only got into the series with 3 but it's the best driving game I've played since the heady days of multiplayer Driveclub with the gang from here.
Horizon 3 looked strawberry floating amazing on One X in 4K HDR and I expect 4 will look even better and the arcade driving and setting are just my cup of tea.

I have Game Pass for 18 months but I'm buying the Ultimate edition of this for the extra DLC and I have no regrets in pre-ordering from the Xbox store as I know I'm going to be playing the game for years.

So, what's pulling you onto the platform and demanding you board the hype train?

I haven't been on the Hype Train for ages, I'm usually happy to wait for the Sensible Coach, it arrives a lot later but costs significantly less, and the journey is just as entertaining.

I don’t really get hyped anymore, I am looking forward to Spider-Man and Dragon Quest XI but not massively hyped, like MHTL sensible coach seat.

I've gone right off games for the moment so have let my Hype Train ticket lapse. Will purchase again when next gen info starts rolling in.

Will obviously buy and play RDR2, TLoU2, and Spiderman, etc, etc, but not hyped at the moment for them. (As was the case with God of War reboot and that ended up blowing me away so, yeah, you can never tell when the urge to hop on will take you.)

I don't get hyped anymore. I can't rember the last game I was hyped for.

My six year old is super hyped for Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Smash Bros, he’s watching everything about them on YouTube daily. Ah to be young.

Hyped is probably the wrong word as I don’t have the energy anymore. But Red Dead Redemption 2 is the game I am most looking forward to.

I'm excited about the new PES and it's launching on 30 August. It's a game that, over the course of a year, I put a lot of time into. I'm a long-time fan of the series and it's always fun to check out the new additions and changes.

Spyro Trilogy Reignited is another title that I can't wait to see. I loved playing Spyro 1 on the PS1 and I hope that the remake brings back that magical feeling.

Otherwise... I try not to get too hyped for games now. It seems that we know almost everything about a new game months before it appears; great for marketing but it - in my view - it can tarnish the play experience.

But, yeah, I am hyped to see PES and Spyro :-).

Another misery guts here who no longer gets hyped.

I'm also preordering Forza Horizon 4. Always meant to pick 3 up if I saw it at the right price but never did so am happy to pay full price to play 4 from the off.

Looking forward to Battlefield and Fallout too.

I am a sucker for the Trials games, so I will be buying Trials Rising on release as well.

The complete version of 3 is on sale on the MS store so might be worth a punt. I am also getting FH4 day one, its the only series I get hyped for to any real degree.

I dont get that hyped for things anymore simply because I dont know when Ill get to play them. BOTW was the last game I really really wanted and made sure I played on launch but other than that there hasnt been anything in years. Theres stuff I look forward to and games I really like the look of but I have no idea if Ill be able to play on launch or even for months afterwards so I tend not to get carried away anymore.

I'm genuinely unhyped for anything at the moment. And that's not because I'm a sensible, level-headed gamer, oh no. My hype train was OFF ITS RAILS when E3 was on the way (and I got really disappointed).

But... as a Nintendo fan(boy?), there's nothing on the immediate horizon that really excites me. SSBU is closest, but the fact that it's just recycling old fighters and providing a paucity of new ones stymies that excitement somewhat. Pokémon Let's Go! is a trip back to the Pokémon generation I find dullest and have the least nostalgia for. Daemon x Machina is too far away, the Yoshi game is a Yoshi game and we don't know when it's coming, Okami and TWEWY are great but they're ports...

I haven't picked up Octopath yet, and I'm hearing very good things about it, so that's the closest I've got to hype in recent times I'm sorry to say. Which is a shame, because I loved being on board the hype train. If there's one thing I like more than playing games, it's talking about them in excited tones before they come out.

Cyberpunk 2077, and I've not been this hyped since GTA IV. If the stuff in the closed demo is accurate, and the accounts of that demo too, it could be a genuine game-changer in the way we view games just as the GTA series has been.

I cannot (but am obviously going to have to) wait.

I'm not one to get hyped at all but I got really hyped at the end of the Halo Infinite teaser trailer. That music, goddamn that music!

Chalk me down for the Horizon 4 hype train, too. I'm going the Game Pass route for it, though.

The one thing we all say about you is that you never ever ever get hyped about upcoming Xbox releases.

I used to get Hyped for video games but got burned bad with Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising.

what an utter turd of a game.


Usually look forward to most DCS modules but I don't get overly obsessed until they are literally a couple of days away from release
(Mainly because they have long development times)

Do people not get excited for things any more, then?

The game I'm probably most looking forward to now is Super Mario Party Finally looks like a return to a decent party game after the four or five half-hearted games they've shoved out to pull in a few more quid.
