Yeah, its a no-brainer really.

The quality isn't as good as buying from Comixology, but the range of material is just staggering, its actually hard to know where to start.

Just in case you didn't know every single week they put up new comics from 6 months ago.

What is this exactly? Some kind of online service where you can view comics on a tablet? Can you download them for off-line use or is it online only? How far back does it go?

Yes?

It's a Netflix of Marvel comics. It doesn't have brand new titles but I think it has (newish) titles that are over six months. There is also an extensive back catalogue.

Although since I was a kid I had a preference for Superman's world there was a time I used to buy a shit-ton of everything. The fact that you can have whole storylines without worrying about costs is brilliant, and it means you can explore other titles. I think I will sign up.

There's a Marvel Unlimited app that you have to download, once you've signed up and logged in you get access to something like 13,000 comics. Every single week they add new comics from 6 months ago.

Today they added the following...

Amazing X-Men (2013) #6
Deadpool Vs Carnage (2014) #2
Hulk (2014) #1
Ms. Marvel (2014) #3
Nova (2013) #16
Avengers A.I. (2013) #11
Avengers Undercover (2014) #2
Captain Marvel (2014) #2
Deadpool (2012) #27
Iron Fist: The Living Weapon (2014) #1
Iron Man (2012) #24
Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble (2013) #3
Mighty Avengers (2013) #9
Nightcrawler (2014) #1
Secret Avengers (2014) #2
The Superior Foes of Spider-Man (2013) #11
Thunderbolts (2012) #24
What If? Age of Ultron (2014) #2

You can add up to 12 comics at a time to download and read offline, as for how far back it goes, there are the original issues of Uncanny X-Men and Fantastic Four from the 60s.

Thing that's bugging with Marvel Unlimited is that Spider-Man 2099 isn't all on there, and when I sign in only #1-3 show up :x

Yeah, there isn't every single Marvel comic ever released on there, but there are a hell of a lot.

Think there's every Amazing Spider-Man comic available (up to 6 months ago at least), all the Ultimate Spider-Man is there. That's a fair amount of stuff to read right there.

WHAT. THE. strawberry float

So that's by Granov who did loads of Civil War art. That Iron Man in the Extremis suit, Steve in his costume back then and Spidey in the Iron Spider suit he wore then. I'm so confused.

But what could this possibly mean? Well, the nice thing about a project like Secret Wars, which is clearly dealing with time travel, alternate realities, and the like, is it affords Marvel Comics a chance to look back. Our best guess is this is not the only teaser we’ll get featuring a major event of recent years at Marvel. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar one for House of M #1 for example, or Fear Itself #1, or any other Marvel event - with the impetus being someone trying to prevent these, change the outcome of these, or something else to that effect.

Marvel likes tie-ins, and perhaps as part of Secret Wars we'll see a tie-in series or one-shot linked to other major Marvel events of the past. It's important to note the teaser does show an image of Civl War-era costumes and says "Civil War #1", and not "Civil War II #1."

For now, all we know is that something to do with Civil War is returning to Marvel Comics next Summer. But what we can figure out, especially thanks to President of Publishing Dan Buckley, is that “every story in every book is leading to Secret Wars,” as he said at New York Comic Con this past weekend. It doesn’t take a huge leap to extend that into while the event is running, too.

Ok the idea that Marvel are going to re-run through every major event, but with a spin is kinda cool.

Which all leads to a reboot perhaps? Despite how many times they deny it?

If they reboot the Marvel Universe then I'm done with mainstream comics, I think. One of the biggest reasons I don't read DC is that there is no sense of history to it as they've rebooted and strawberry floated with the history so, so much over time that I don't even know where I would start.

Is Secret Wars Hickman's version of Multiversity?

That's one of the main reasons I've got no interest in DC either. I'd be really pissed off if Marvel did it, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I might actually consider getting this. Like Cora, I'm pretty disillusioned with a lot of the modern DC titles, but I'd be up for going through a lot of the old Marvel stuff.

It also might get me interested in comics again (I'm still smarting after DC cancelled Hellblazer  )

Snyder's New 52 Batman is as good a place as any.

right so time runs out means multiple earths are melded into one, hence the secret wars teaser? Or is this teaser in relation to all the multiple earths "dying" and this is the AoU one vs the Zombies one.

But wasn't the AoU timeline completely wiped by Wolverine's fuckery, hence how he broke the time stream and caused all this?  :?

That'll be better than the main series.

With how much Bendis loves timetravel in his X-Men stories I could have believed that to be next year's summer X event if it weren't for all the other teasers. I still think this is like the Edge of Spider-Verse book for incursions.

Speaking of incursions- new volumes of Hickman's Avengers are out next month. :datass:
