What's actually there is probably alright but it felt like there was a good twenty or thirty pages just randomly missing so the story has no sort of rhythm to it and the characters all feel underdeveloped.

Compared with Azzarellos New 52 stuff it just seems even worse.

I liked it but as you say it ended far too soon. There wasn't a third act.

I don't think it need twenty pages at the end in one block but rather spread out through the book. It felt like reading a book with either printing errors or with some pages stuck together.

**Reads Civil War #3 spoilers**

Yep Bendis is still a hack who doesn't get half the characters he writes (and doesn't care since he keeps doing it).

God so much stupid in this event.

Top marks to Marvel for once again giving a big entertainment news outlet a press release giving away a huge spoiler in their current big crossover event before the vast majority of people have even had a chance to read it.

I care so little about this event I haven't even bothered pirating it, let alone buying it.

I'd like to think that Hawkeye killing Banner ends up being what causes the events in that Inhuman's premonition to happen which leads to everyone trying to stop him, but I'm almost certain Bendis doesn't have the self-awareness for that.

Still making my way through Marvel material from the start of Bendis New Avengers. Finished Secret Invasion, enjoyed it more the second time round but I only read the main series plus the MA and NA tie-ins so skipped out on all the filler stuff. Going to start Dark Reign next which I remember loving at the time, see if it still holds up.

Also read the first volume of Hellboy today (Seeds of Destruction) love the gothic art style

I'd recommend the Black Panther Secret Invasion tie-in. It was great.

Nice thick paper cover for All Star Batman. The issue was good too.

Did Duke ever get a super-hero name?

All Star Batman #2- I like that Snyder seems to be trying to break the record for most DC rogues in one story.

Off the top of my head in two issues they've had:

Two Face
Killer Moth
Firefly
Gentleman Ghost
Penguin
Black Mask
Great White Shark
Cheshire
Copperhead
Killer Croc
King Shark
Amygdala
KGBeast
Mr Zsasz

Fun energetic book so far.

Jessica Jones #1- This was great. Felt like a missing Alias issue and makes you remember how long it's been since Jessica was used correctly.

I've enjoyed reading the whole run again, some of it is a bit lacklustre but I like the supporting cast they build up around Peter.

Steve Dillon has died, that's two major artists this year now who have died in their 50's :( Impossible to overstate just how important he's been to comics, so much of the look of both British and Vertigo comics is down to his art.

Didn't even realise Glyn Dillon was his brother until right now

So I've just discovered that there's a DC comic series of He-Man :o

Has anyone read any of them? Seriously considering buying the back catalogue (if that's a thing you can do?).

Jack Chick, creator of the most insane Christian comic strips ever is dead

Here's a selection of panels from his works

A significant part of comics history for all the wrong reasons
