Thanks, man! I'm excited about trying it... a little cautious, but dang excited!

You'll be fine.

There's so much you need to play.

I'd keep an eye out for Move Controllers as well. They enhance the experience so much. Plus you can play Beat Sabre with them.

EDIT: Oh and don't worry about motion sickness. More people worry about it than really suffer from it. You'll also get more used to it as you go. Start with short sessions (10-15 minutes) and slower games and you'll get there in no time.

If you do start to feel ill at any point stop immediately and take a break. Do not try and "push through" it as you'll just feel worse.

There's still stuff I can't do, but it effects everyone differently.

Personally smooth turning in any game is just a flat no, and I have issues with the viewpoint pitching too.

However it doesn't mean I can't enjoy all of the best stuff there is to offer on PSVR. RE7 is just turned to an incremental turning mode for example.

The best experience for me though is Farpoint with the AIM controller. The standard controls (unless they've changed them) turns the right stick off completely, but for me this is perfect. I play standing up and actually turn to the left and right in order to turn my character. There's no motion sickness if what you are doing in the game is what you are doing in real life.

Although like I said it varies, I've recommended that setup to others who say it causes them problems. Best thing is to just jump in and play around with settings until you find something that feels right for you.

Totally. Some games have got really extensive "comfort" options that can help. Wipeout would be unplayable for me without them.

Absolutely H. Play with the comfort settings if you have them Jawa until you find what works for you. Some games will be better/worse than others, but don't go in worrying about it. :D

If you want to measure just how sick you'll feel then start a stopwatch when you play scavengers odyssey on the VR worlds disc. If you can get past 20 minutes then you've got a strong stomach.

I enjoyed playing Polybius in 2D mode and I've heard it works well in VR. Rez Infinite, too!

You should gradually build up a tolerance to VR.
Don't try to push on if you start feeling quesy, just stop and take a break, build up gradually.

First time I played VR, I went with barrel rolling in Eve Valkyrie. Figured if that didn't make me hurl then I'd be ok.

I am a total whimp with movement (IRL I'm lousy on rides and roundabaouts  ) so I'm probs gonna stick to "sitting down" games at first.

Especially as I'm gonna try for a setup at my desk!

When playing Rez, don't be tempted to use the sticks on the pad to aim like you normally would.

I really recommend starting with VR Worlds - Ocean Descent.

It's one of my go-to demonstrators for PSVR because it's simple and all you have to do is stand and watch.

Totally agree with this. Although it took a few goes before I was brave enough for the final experience!

I also get motion sickness with VR easily, and was totally fine with this.

I know VR purists would disapprove, but I always choose teleport as a movement option, and that avoids sickness totally for me.

I prefer smooth motion forward to teleporting, but I do prefer stepped turning in stuff like Skyrim and Farpoint (I really need to go back to that).

EDIT: Just realised that Borderlands 2 VR is out in a few days (Albeit for £40 and without the DLC). Anyone interested? I'm thinking it's a "wait for a sale" one for me. Certainly not paying that and not getting the DLC as well.

If you don't already own Wipeout Jawa, download the demo and give that a try. If you survive that race in VR you'll do fine in other games. Apart from Robinson :x

Oh my. This is really quite something  .

I am genuinely amazed at how good the effect is. I've never put on a VR headset before and this is far better than I'd expected it to be. The tech can't be appreciated unless you actually try it; I have had little interest in VR but this has altered my perception. It feels like something completely different... it opens up a whole new range of possibilities for gaming.

I've only tried it for forty minutes and only in the VR Playroom software, but this is enough to make me sit back in a state of surprise. Wow! Freely looking around the landscape and rescuing Astro Bots was just astounding; the effect is unlike anything I've experienced before.

My initial thoughts about pros and cons, based upon these very early moments, are:

+ This is an amazing new experience
+ The headset is well-made and comfortable

- There are quite a lot of cables and components
- The "gaming area" need some to be carefully organised (I have very little space but it seems okay so far)
- The graphics are a little fuzzy (but this doesn't detract from the remarkable effects)
- The Dualshock has to be "reset" pretty regularly (but you only have to hold down the Options button for a second to do so)
- I think that motion-sickness management will have to be monitored and individual game settings modified to suit personal tastes

Why more negatives than positives? Never mind the quantity, feel the quality. I am absolutely blown away and I've not even scraped the surface yet. The included games (VR Worlds, Skyrim, Doom, Astro Bot and Wipeout) are downloading now!

Tl;dr goodbye world i am living in VR and and i now understand. k thanx bye
