I'd just like to thanks for that one. Managed to nab one off Ebay (from Game no less) for £3.70. Just played a 2nd play through of the VR mission and it's amazing, can not believe they didn't do more for BF2 in regards to VR.

Completed Psychonauts: Rhombus of Ruin. Was short but sweet. The puzzles were fairly basic but it was good to be back in the Psychonauts world in preparation for Psychonauts 2.

Fast forward to now and i'm getting fed up of my legs tripping over the cable whenever i'm playing room scale, and the wireless solution coming out is looking like being close to £400 for it  :dread: Kindle get strawberry floated HTC. Anyway, what if i used one of those spare poles and looped the cable over one side? Could it hold it up and keep me from tripping over it?

YES! Looks gooseberry fool, but then i cant see it while playing, and i'll take it down after every rooms scale session. It so much better, no weight dragging around, no catching on your feet. Greet stuff. Not perfect as in a certain spot you can wrap it around your neck (dat suicide simulator 2018) but it's mostly far better.

Played some superhot and budget cuts with it, the latter now being much better and more immersive.

What's your VR racing setup like? Have you got the full shebang, wheel, chair, pedals etc? If so how much has it set you back altogether?

I have indeed. I have a playseat challenge, with a Logitech g29 (wheel, pedals and shifter) permanently attached.

Cost wise - I dread to think. The chair, and g29 was probably £350 ish. The Vive was £700 odd back in the day ( :dread: ) and I think the pc was a couple of grand.

Bloody worth it though :datass:

Purchased Superhot VR so it better be good Ad7 ol boy. Still think Battlefronts Rogue One VR mission is one of the best VR experiences so far, lost count of the times I've now played through it.

If by good you mean 'strawberry floating hell I feel like neo, John McClain and John wick all at once' then yes I think you'll enjoy it.

Anyone who has just bought a PSVR, there are a few games on clearance at Argos at the moment. Things like VR Worlds, Arizona Sunshine etc. Stock might be limited but definitely worth a look.

Everything on sale is out of stock, would have snapped up VR Worlds at that price. Think my next purchase is going to be Creed Rise To Glory.

Sony now working on "deeper experiences" for VR

http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2018/09/ ... xperiences

In an interview with the Japanese PlayStation Blog, as spotted by Upload VR, the executive noted that users want games they can play for a “longer time”. He expanded: “Based on such expectations, I came up with the strategy of making full-scale games of larger scale in the second and third years. Titles with a deeper gaming will continue to increase in the future.”

While the arcade style games have been great (and necessary to work out which machanics work in VR and which don't, they now need to work on creating games with the worlds Sony is renowned for.

Cheers, reserved VR worlds which is oddly one of the few PSVR games I've never played apart from the demo.

I'm having a lot of fun with Knockout League (surprisingly good workout) but I think I'll be picking up Creed for the multiplayer.

Facebook have a new all-in-on VR product - Oculus Quest. A standalone device that doesn't require a PC.

Unless it can also be used with computers it's effectively a premium standalone toy with sub Oculus Rift quality games. Better value to get a PS4 & PSVR in a deal. What is promising is that it is wireless which is promising for the future of premium VR.

We’re excited to usher in the next era of VR gaming with the introduction of Oculus Quest, our first all-in-one VR gaming system. Oculus Quest will launch in Spring 2019 for $399 USD. Offering six degrees of freedom and Touch controllers, Oculus Quest makes it easy to jump right into the action—all with no PC, no wires, and no external sensors. We have over 50 titles in the works, including some of your favorite Rift games like Robo Recall, The Climb, and Moss.

Oculus Quest essentially combines the high-end, tethered Oculus Rift headset with the relatively cheap, standalone Oculus Go device that was released earlier this year. It uses the same optics as the Oculus Go, with a resolution of 1600 x 1440 per eye, but with the option to adjust lens spacing. Also like the Oculus Go, the Oculus Quest includes built-in speakers that pipe sound into users’ ears, but supposedly with improved bass.

But unlike the Oculus Go, you can walk around, apparently for large distances. Barra describes it as having “arena-scale” tracking that supports at least 400 square feet of space. Its controllers have the same button layout as the Rift’s Touch controllers, but with the half-moon tracking ring reversed, so it loops above your hands instead of below them.

We don’t know exactly how powerful the Oculus Quest will be, but Barra promises that porting games from the high-end Oculus Rift to Oculus Quest (or vice versa) will be easy.

Promising that it'll play games like Robo Recall, The Climb and Moss is interesting.

At under $400 you've got to be wondering what kind of processing this thing will have, the other issue will be battery life I guess.

Venom wrote:Better value to get a PS4 & PSVR in a deal.

It'll depend on how good the tracking is. If it can really pull off games like Robo Recall and The Climb, it'll be doing things you just can't do with PSVR. Its going to be rendering at a higher resolution with what will hopefully be better optics, tracking and controls.

The price is something strange, I just don't see how they can produce this thing at that price.

Been playing a few more PSVR games

Batman Arkham VR - Fun but very short. Haven't done the riddler bits which might add something to the package.

I Expect You To Die - Only done the first couple of missions but so far I love it. Brilliantly presented and funny.

Next games to try are Wipeout and Star Wars, both of which I'm pretty excited to try based on reviews and comments.

I'm yet to be convinced, I mean it might be a good game. But a VR killer app? I don't think so.

Was just watching footage of Insomniac's next VR game which is due some time next year...it looks impressive.
