I tried to play a normal ps game in VR (bioshock) however made me feel nauseous. This worries me about watching films

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, The Apprentice S18
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

I don't know if the Google one has it, but the gear vr is obviously lacking positional tracking, so leaning forward and back , up and down isn't replicated in game which is one of the biggest differences between it and proper vr headsets. So you couldn't duck and look under a desk for example. They're great to see what it's about though. My free gear vr eventually led to me spanking thousands on my pc and Vive so watch out ;)

OK, cheers, good to know. I'll watch to see if I can get one for cheap. I'm not dipping into expensive stuff until I know it's being supported in the next gen consoles (I'm not going to do PC gaming) so this might satisfy me for now.

PS, I assume you've all seen this, re never trusting VR?

No nudity at all, but I'll call it NSFW just in case:

I was looking at this the other day. I understand it's not as techy as the big-money options, but I'm skint.

Overall, then, you'd say it's worth the money? £50 at the moment, I think. I have a Pixel 2 so my phone should be up to it.

Yeah was definitely worth it, I just hope now I've got one that Daydream gets continued support.

I don't know, I think I could watch the odd film in VR mode, but the one I was talking about using Skybox for a virtual cinema or even on a space station. Thought it was quite cool and the picture was spot on with no blurry eye strain along the sides.

Movies in VR will become more popular as resolutions increase and it's more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. I do like the idea of being able to watch something online with friends and share that experience.

PS VR Worlds
Just done the speed run thing lying down which I wasn’t fond of but the shark attack was breathtaking .
The one in space was good until I started to be on land moving around, made me fill slightly queasy after a while

The Playroom VR
Fun games for free, really enjoyable

GT Sport
Alright, wish there were more cars

Kitchen
Shows me what Resi 7 will be like, wasn’t jumpy imo. Onto Resi I guess

Wipeout
Totally unplayable for me, loved the look but one lap and I felt sick

Danganrompa
Needs to have a full game on VR, really fun demo

Star Wars Battlefront DLC VR
Simply amazing, why can’t EA do more with this in single player

The Heist
Very good but way too short. I know you can get three endings but would be nice if they do a longer one

Tumble
Bought this after the first level on the demo. Excellent puzzle game but sometimes the blocks appear a bit to close

Rush of Blood
Wow, just done the first level but great game so far. Genuine jump scares and feels like you are on a rollercoaster, especially when going quickly

That's kind of the benefit. VR immerses you in the world in a way a flat screen can't and with the controls set properly (aiming by looking at stuff) you are constantly reinforcing that immersion with the mechanics of the game.

I'm not personally sure the default controls are the best way to play, I've got a feeling that by default it allows you to aim with the analogue stick as well as by looking and to me that reduces the impact of the game in VR. You should just need a button to lock on and one to use the overdrive, the rest of the game should just be you aiming at enemies by looking at them and getting immersed in that world.

It should go without saying that you are also best off playing the game with headphones and the sound turned up as well.

Got superhot, it’s very good......when shooting.

I find it difficult to throw things and sometimes my gun or item in my hand disappears. Maybe my camera isn’t set up right but only seems to happen with this game. Although I am standing

Had a mess about with google earth VR yesterday. It's so good, and when you get down to street level, you can put a street view bubble over your head and view that too:

Is there an escape room game on the PSVR?

Depends what counts as an escape room game.

I Expect You to Die and Statik are both great games on PSVR, they both put you in 'rooms' and require you to solve puzzles to proceed.

I expect you to die is really good, if a bit short.

Yeah. It's got a fantastic No One Lives Forever/Austin Powers vibe to the whole thing. Loved it.
