Hard pretty much bossed now on beat saber, managing to get through some tracks on expert now.

Also took me ages to understand the scoring system, now I understand it I am picking up S and SS rank

I also noticed if you are wearing a fitbit you get some extra steps

I would but you can't use credit on a pre-order?? Oh well, I'll either drop an order on Friday or I'll completely forget and miss out.

Enjoy! I think that this is my favourite version of Tetris since the GameBoy.

In non-Tetris VR chat, I may finally be taking the plunge on a PC VR set up in the New Year. I could technically afford to get a Vive Pro, but it's a strawberry float ton of money to spend on something and there's some other stuff I'm wanting as well (4k Monitor, HOTAS stick). So I'm considering the OR. The Vive seems good, but again even the basic one is ridiculously expensive on it's own compared to the Rift. Is there a substantial difference between the two? More to the point is the price difference between the two justified?

Beyond that I'm looking forward to getting a HOTAS and finally being able to play Elite Dangerous the way that it's meant to be played. What are the good, PC only games and experiences? Are there any cool mods for existing games, or any cool non-game applications I should be looking into?

I'll reply more in depth when I'm at my pc, but in the mean time check out my YouTube channel for me playing elite with my x52pro. It's strawberry floating amazing

(I've got more vids on there, most of the vr stuff has it called out in the title).

In short, Vive pro is an unessasary upgrade from the standard Vive, so you may as well get the regular one, and the room scale and controller tracking is light years above what you've experienced with move. Absolutely perfect in all directions.

Is there any real reason to go for standard Vive over Oculus now?

There are some really cool Oculus exclusives (not sure how much of a pain it is to get them running on Vive) and it supports room scale if you buy an extra sensor. I guess once you've done that pricing is similar at the moment (though it was significantly cheaper around Black Friday, so prices may come down again if they do any more sales).

I only have limited experience with the Vive admittedly but I think the Rift is a better value experience. Vive has better tracking but I've never run into any real issues with Oculus tracking apart from sometimes needing to reset it after a software update. The headset for me is more comfortable than the standard Vive and the touch controllers are also superior to the wands. Oculus Store has some good exclusives and it has great compatibility with almost everything that is on Steam too.

I'm doing things in reverse order as I've owned a Rift since launch but I couldn't resist a PSVR in the Black Friday sales, picked one up new with Astro Boy, Moss and Playstation Worlds. Also got Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and Resident Evil 7. Set me back £200 for the lot which I was pretty happy with.

It's interesting to compare the experiences. The resolution downgrade is noticeable but I have to say the ease with which PSVR works is great. It's a really comfortable headset too and after a decent amount of time playing on it I wasn't feeling the headset on my face as much as I do with Oculus. Tracking isn't nearly as good but most of the games I want on PSVR are seated experiences anyway so I don't see that being an issue.

For anything that's on both systems I'll be sticking with Oculus but there are a healthy amount of exclusives that I wanted on PSVR right now, Tetris Effect is next on my list!

There was a time when I would've easily recommended the Vive over the Oculus, but the price difference + controllers (the Vive wands are mostly fine, but the trackpads have a habit of malfunctioning) + exclusives (there is Revive, but it's far from ideal and there's always the risk of an update breaking something) + not being stuck with HTC's horrible customer support... all that means it's very hard to recommend the Vive over the Rift. It's mostly just if you have something against Facebook or console-like exclusives on the PC. I mostly tick both of those boxes, but if I were buying into VR today I would probably go for the Rift.

Of course there is quite possibly a Valve-made headset on the horizon, along with their new Knuckles controllers. Might be worth waiting for a bit to see if they announce something early next year (although that probably wouldn't launch until middle to late next year at the earliest).

Has anyone played Rush on PSVR yet? I gave it a quick go yesterday and had motion sickness, first game I've had it with so far. I also struggled a bit not smashing my face into the ground.

Gonna give it another go tonight as the PSVR Without Parole Youtube channel were positive about it and I quite like their short reviews.

I'm definitely leaning towards the Rift at the moment, but I might hold off a little to see what Valve announce in the next month or two (If anything). I'm just a bit concious that we might be due a bit of a generational upgrade for some of these headsets and buying into them now might be a bit of a mistake. But we'll see.

I've only played Tetris Effect for an hour or so and not in VR but it's so overwhelming with just a set of headphones on. I'm afraid that VR might be too much. I could go full Lawnmower Man.

For me VR is the only way to play that game. You need to immerse yourself in it. 8-)

I've barely looked into PSVR since it launched; I was wary about it and have never tried it out. But last night I impulsively ordered the PSVR Mega Pack :o . 'Cos this time of year isn't already expensive enough :fp: .

I'm not sure what to expect, really. The available room space is tight and I'm gonna try and set the kit up so that I can use it sitting at my small gaming desk. Will that be possible? I'll soon find out!

The pack contains Astro-Bot (yay!), Skyrim (yay!), Wipeout (yay, I think?), Doom (opinions vary?) and VR Worlds (demos?). It doesn't include a Move controller and I'll be using my standard DualShock (which I believe is fine for these games?).

I'm excited about playing the VR versions of Polybius and Rez Infinite which I already have :-) .

However, I'm a little apprehensive about any motion sickness effect, but hopefully the game options will allow for the setup to be tailored a bit.

I can't believe I'm gonna be experiencing VR soon :o ... :toot: .

Nice one Jawa!

Hopefully you'll love it. Get on the PS Store and get all the free VR content you can find. Also get Moss, which is another wonderful little platform puzzler.

VR Worlds has a great mix of things to try and for me Ocean Descent is the perfect thing to start VR with.

Welcome to the future!

EDIT: Oh and don't worry about motion sickness. More people worry about it than really suffer from it. You'll also get more used to it as you go. Start with short sessions (10-15 minutes) and slower games and you'll get there in no time.

If you do start to feel ill at any point stop immediately and take a break. Do not try and "push through" it as you'll just feel worse.
