Yeah, the recent concert I went to in Belfast was excellent. I meant to post up some pics and opinion but got a bit bogged down with work over the last week.

'Copy of A' sounded really good live, a little more aggressive which worked pretty well. The screens in the background were also really cool, moving them around after every song, displaying a range of things from video, static, digital Trent head to just a silhouette of the band.

Range of songs were great too (nearly a 2 hour set) and he even did an instrumental from the social network.

If anyone ever gets a chance to go to a NIN gig definitely go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Here's some of my pics:

Yeah there is an audiophile version. :D

Ahh those pics take me back to the Wave goodbye show in 2009. The moment when they brought out Gary Numan was insane.

Yep, that's the one. I thought they were great even though I hadn't heard any of their stuff before. I knew of them but had no idea they were just instrumental. Their banter with the crowd, energy and playing was great.

I really should nab a few of their albums.

It's definitely grown on me now. After a few more listens, personally think it's one of Trent's most consistent albums yet. I find alot with NiN in general, never really end up enjoying a whole album. The songs I do like I love but yeah as a whole it normally goes a little wayward. I think this the first album I have enjoyed pretty much from start to end.

Slight tangent here, was listen to this and The Fragile the other night and was thinking I would love one day for Trent to do just a whole album of piano medley's along with backing percussion. Ghosts I-IV is probably the closet to that but it's just a hard album to get into, really don't like it. What's other people opinions on it?

I adore Ghosts I-IV. Some of the tracks a lot more than others - I have created a couple of refined Ghosts playlists for different moods. I kind of agree about wanting a piano medley album, a lot of the best tracks on it were the kind of creepy slow piano ones.

I don't like ranking it alongside the others as it's so different - it's something to listen to alongside the movie soundtracks. (TGWTDT soundtrack  )

The two singles and I Would For You are the best.

I was slagging this off for being cookie cutter NIN, then I heard All Time Low. Funky.

Yeah you're right about that one, it does have a industrial groove to it.

And on a second listen with my good headphones, this is a better album when heard in higher quality. Very nicely layered.

Finally had my first full listen of the album straight through. Loved both Copy of A and Came back haunted when I had heard them so it was great to start the listen off with something familiar. All Time Low has a great funkiness to it which I could see some NIN fans not liking but I found it a nice change. Everything; which I had seen some comments about on here before I listened to it, seems like the most commercial track Trent could possibly ever deliver. A little too much of a generic guitary sound, but I was expecting worse.

Loved both Satellite and Various Methods of Escape but the stand out track of the album is easily In Two. This is the kind of sound I associate with NIN, dark beats and messy synths, didn't want the track to end.

The album clearly been made by an older, wiser and less angry(?) Trent Reznor. It echos How to Destroy Angels at times, but that isn't such a bad thing. Seems to be one of the more accessible NIN albums too, could easily see more singles being picked off it.

Now, time for another listen.
