Yep. Didn't realise at the time though, wasn't until a year or two later when we got home internet that I noticed my boxart and cartridge label were really different from what they were supposed to be. It was basically a ROM dump onto a cheap cartridge.

Prime day was strawberry floating rubbish last year so I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

Its not a subscription to shop. Its a service above and beyond what they offer, which includes next day delivery for the year. Just the delivery is value enough for me.

I pay for the same from Asos.

Prime isn't too bad once you factor in the video and music streaming.

I used to subscribe to Lovefilm (by post and instant streaming) which cost roughly the same per year so when amazon took them over and added the streaming to Prime it made sense to ditch Lovefilm and switch to Prime, I don't miss the by post bit as the discs very rarely arrived in watchable condition.

That's cool; if you want to pay (£70?) a year for delivery and you make use of the video service, more power to you, Falsey :toot:

I dont use anything but the delivery. Also you can share the account with other people and split the cost.

I have Prime through a student account and so it is very cheap. I am not sure I would pay full price for it.

I'm probably going to get it so I can use the Subscribe and Save stuff on things like Nappies and such like when the baby is born, should save the money back that way

Was thinking about it for a while and eventually got it when I cancelled Sky Sports for over the summer. Wish id got it ages ago now.

Obviously its whether you think you will get your money's worth but I certainly do.

I get loads of stuff delivered for free

Ive downloaded loads of albums for free. The music app is better than the Google Play one.

Ive also got Amazon Instant app on my smart TV so have watched a few free films on it. Not watched any TV boxset yet but I believe some of them are quite good.

Finally ive got a kindle and believe it allows you to borrow one book per month but ive not tried that yet.

Amazon has now made some of the Animal Crossing amiibo cards - including the latest series for New Leaf - only available to Prime customers.

I hope Amazon are going to be doing a free 30 day subscription to Prime soon. This has become part of my Christmas tradition signing up to this so I can get any late Christmas presents the following day. :toot:

I think they become available to accounts which previously activated a trial after a set amount of time has passed.

Why not just create a new account, under a different email, and activate the Prime trial on that? (It's why I have 4 Amazon accounts :slol:

Although I did buy a year's sub for £60, yesterday.)

Yeah, they've been doing this for a while now. Really quite dumb/bizarre.

My Prime expired earlier this week so I cancelled it after it auto renewed (at £79) and then resubscribed this morning at the cheaper price. Thanks for the heads up on the cheaper current price SoK.

Are you sure they charged you the cheaper price? I saw small print which said it was only open to new customers.

Yeah, I emailed customer service saying I'd been charged the higher amount. They said they couldn't refund me but I could cancel it and then resubscribe at the lower cost.
