Amazon already has the concept of "addon" video content that adds channels or more streamable content this will just one of those.

They might add it as one of those, but they have said it will not cost any extra for Prime subscribers.

It’s basically going to be the same concept as a supermarket “buy one get one free” deal. They lose money on the deal, but gain money overall when people pick up extra things in the shop or from people becoming more loyal to their brand.

Amazon hope to get a lot of football fans to sign up, those fans will then see they get free next day deliver and will shop more on Amazon. Amazon can then use that extra cash to fully take over the world.

Enjoying people with no interest in football scared their Prime membership is going to increase because of it.

With the football and the buckets of cash they paid for the Lord of the Rings series they really are splashing the cash on content for Prime.

Theyre enjoying the fear and panic, not them actually having to pay more, very different thing.

But they are not paying more. They are moaning about an imaginary price increase.

Was that aimed at me as I said no such thing.
I simply said Amazon are spending lots of money on content but I wall point out that as with most subscription models there's going to be content you don't want.
