amiibo | Wii-U & 3DS

So I had planned to have a fairly regular Saturday, and headed to the gym. I was wandering through town on my way there and noticed that GAME had a massive, new amiibo section full of them (including multiple Marths!). Argos had a similarly grand display going on, so it seemed like everyone had got new deliveries.

Anyway, I ended up coming back with this lot and I'm not really sure how it happened.

I got Ike abd Squid boy today at Hyper Japan for a tenner each

For all the new stock I still don't have a a Toad !!!!!!!!!

Still no Little Mac or Lucina for me either.

Randomly went into Game and could not resist Lucina. My first amiibo! Oh dear, I've been suckered in. I completely blame this thread. And now I want more. Specifically Marth, Shulk, Ike and Robin. I actually could have gotten Shulk a couple of weeks ago from Nintendo's store when they got a re-stock. I don't even have a Wii U... :lol:

. I heard the Fire Emblem ones will be compatible with Fates (3DS). I do intend to get a WiiU though, and I have a couple of WiiU games already. :shifty:

Although if NX is backwards compatible I may just wait for that.

3 more added to my collection. I've 2 more coming so i'll post an updated collection pic when they arrive

Still no dispatch for my Zavvi ordered Olimar.

Just noticed Shulk is available to buy on GAME's website at £14.99...tempting.

Saw a shitload of amiibos in my local game yesterday. They had what appeared to be two or three of everything, shulks, Marths etc. I don't know what's rare though so I didn't get any.

This may attract some folk... a Silver Mario amiibo for £19.99. It's available via a seller through Amazon. Hmmn... I'm not gonna go for it myself, but this sounds like a great deal.

Just as I manage to rid myself of amiibo madness (nothing now pre-ordered; "I've moved on" etc)... these arrive. I feel powerless to resist this kind of collectable. As they're in blind packs, I've no doubt I'll go over the top like an absolute loon and end up with doubles, too.

No interest in those cards thankfully. I've barely made use of my amiibo to unlock some MK8 outfits, mostly I just like them as fairly inexpensive little shelf decorations.

I gotta say that I'm in the same position, Grin. My amiibos have been used for unlocking outfits in Kart (I liked that!) and... errr... that's it. I haven't tried Woolly World yet but I do like the look of the woolly Yoshi outfits (the Sonic one looks ace!). Oh, hang on - I also tapped a couple of amiibos on the 'Pad in Hyrule Warriors to get a few items - but I've not actually started the main game yet, either.

It's odd that they've become such a huge hit - and I do kinda like them - because the actual game functionality is minimal; perhaps far less than we have seen with Skylanders. I guess the attraction of the characters has proved more popular than expected.
