I suppose where it depends where you have the most content, but if you are on Amazon Prime its hard to see much past the Fire TV/Fire TV Stick.

Hell for this kind of price you can buy a full Windows 8 tablet to do the same job with a lot more flexibility.

I'm quite content with my PS4 and apps for now, but the 'smart' platform will certainly effect my next TV set purchase. We've seen platforms like like Symbian, WebOS and Blackberry OS come and go, so I won't be rushing to commit to any of them until they've matured.

Judging by past experience, it'll be Google, Microsoft and Apple monopolising this sphere in the long term.

WebOS is kind of back as LG's smart TV platform. It's alright too, if a bit slow, and obviously it's not going to become a standard as it's tied to one manufacturer.

Hopefully they won't make their TVs exclusive to WebOS, I'd love one of their OLEDs with Android TV in a few years.

Based on what? As of right now what does using Android TV deliver over WebOS or even Tizen?
