It has, man, and I’m hopeful that the delays aren’t set to encourage spending in this new game. Cautious, but hopeful :) .

Of course not, its all about giving you choice and freedom to pay play your own way, not in any way to subvert your rational mind and/or psychologically batter you into spending money without really thinking about it. This is Nintendo we're talking about here; completely non-litigous and friendly nintendo who love you all as unique wallets people.

Dude, you're preaching to someone thinking the same thoughts - I have posted frequently in the "Paid Content" thread along similar lines. All I am saying is that I hope the spending isn't too intrusive. It may well be... we'll have to wait and see :) .

I’m now pretty excited by what I saw of that new AC game. I don’t want to wait until late November for the launch!

Fake edit: I know it’s already out in Australia but switching territories on devices isn’t my scene.

Edit: Decided that I’m gonna get back into AC:NL on my 3DS whilst waiting :toot: .

I suppose it's the old adage of I always have my phone with me/I don't always have my 3DS/switch. I'm going to install this no matter what but meh has more promise than bloody camping.

Watched the video, it actually looks lovely.

Heartened by the disclaimer at the bottom too: something like "some items shown only available through regular sustained gameplay". Just like the original AC, then!

Nintendo Life has played the game for a couple of hours and things are sounding reasonably positive so far.

Sounds promising. Glad you can visit other players' campsites.

That does sound pretty neat!

TouchArcade has shared some thoughts on their initial play, too. Again, it seems promising... albeit I’m just a wee but concerned about the “AC Lite” suggestion. It does sound as if there is plenty of potential for other areas to be added to the game and I like the idea of themed events.

Why? Thats all this could ever really be. Nintendo will not want to risk eating into any sales for the main releases.

Yes they are supposed to be leads to upsell to the proper games and introduce people to Switch etc. They will probably update it in time to cross promot somehow with a switch AC. At least that was the investor briefing they put out forever ago when first announced entry into the smart apps market and the capital partnership with DeNA

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Which devices are supported?
iOS users:
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is supported on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices running iOS 9.0 or newer. Note: This does not include iPhone 4S/5/5c, iPad 2/3rd Generation/4th Generation/mini, and iPod Touch 5th Generation.

This is taken from Nintendo”s USA website... am I reading it wrong or wrong or is the iPad mini not supported? I have (I think) a 4th generation mini, bought in April 2016. I hope it works!

Edit: Hopefully it’s only the original mini that can’t run it, not more recent editions?

Oh, and Matt - yeah, it would be brilliant to see a new AC on the Switch. That’s the dream scenario!

Nintendo Life has posted a further lengthy update on their experience with the AC: Pocket Camp game and their thoughts so far. Still sounds perhaps surprisingly decent at this point. They plan on publishing a final review once they’ve spent more time with the game.

I've been playing a bit of this over the weekend. Seems fun, and it seems suited to pocket play. Currently waiting 7 hours for Cyrus to build me a speaker though. :dread:

I might have told Nintendo a little white lie when they asked me what country I was playing from. :shifty:
