Man, you got me looking them up in my AC card collection  . Okay... so... it's Olivia... and Butch.

I still don't get it. Something to do with the "Chien" title? Olivia Dog?!?

The presentation is being held specifically to reveal the new mobile game. News about Switch and 3DS will not be included.

I was almost literally (LITERALLY) jumping up when I read your post, but my fire turned to tears within moments  .

I am quite excited about the potential of playing Animal Crossing on my iPad... but I fear the break-up, cut-down and "micro"-transaction infestation of the gameplay. Really, I just want Animal Crossing: Another Leaf on Switch, not Animal Crossing: Best Coins Deal £89.99 on mobile.

Agree. just a little Switch news would have been great. :( On the plus side I'm really enjoying Stardew Valley.

That is my worry too but Fire Emblem Heroes has been generally well received for the way in which it delivers paid content I believe?

I'd rather pay an upfront price and not be bombarded with micro-transactions than get it for free and drown under a sea of adverts and loot boxes.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Pocket Camp.

+ The look and sound directly matches that of AC and AC:HHD on the 3DS
+ There is a big range of features and a huge variety of items
+ It suggests that it could prove pretty addictive
- I wonder how intrusive - and costly - the Leaf vouchers will be?
- I wish it were on Switch or 3DS

The game launches at the end of November. This is the first mobile release in ages that I am keen to check out!

Edit: I like the idea that we will be able to exchange codes to visit other camps and become friends. I hope that some of you guys are gonna be playing :) .

I find it odd that something being irrationally compulsive can be framed as a positive quality, especially considering how fast it appears nintendo has caught up to mobile business practices (real time-delayed activities, pay-to-not-wait etc) which hide under its exterior. At this point just emulating AC Wild World on a phone seems like a better solution to get your fix if the game on the go.

I think you have to take it in context though, Trelliz - one of my negative concerns was about the payment aspects. In mentioning the point about addiction, I meant in terms of gameplay - I want it to be as engrossing as AC was on DS and 3DS :) .

Another thought... I am pleasantly surprised at how good the game looks running in portrait mode. I always use my tablet in landscape mode and, upon seeing the start of the trailer vid, I tutted to myself about the use of portrait view. But... it looks good! Very attractive styling.

Animal Crossing Pocket camp looks a lot of fun.

No annoying gacha elements!

Ill give it a whirl, hopefully it leads into a proper Switch release in 12-18 months.

Hasn't Animal Crossing always had real time delayed activities though? It doesn't seem to me like they've changed the core gameplay to accommodate microtransactions.

It has, man, and I’m hopeful that the delays aren’t set to encourage spending in this new game. Cautious, but hopeful :) .
