I think you're all being harsh. I've been playing it a lot more recently and I'm really liking it. I know it's cyclical, but once you're beyond a paltry low level it takes over an hour to fully get through the entire cycle with every animal and task which is not to be sniffed at considering it's a mobile game.

Also, it may just be me as the only AC I've played beyond the GC 'original' was Wild World (which left me cold as it was too similar to the original yet not quite the same; I just didn't want to replay the same game over again in a watered down format) but the newness of the other bits (Isabelle, Cyrus, those Italian birds who run the camper design place - they're a highlight IMO) means the game seems quite fresh for the regular AC format. The level system is well implemented and I like the way it rewards meeting goals (though I may feel differently once I've run out of them!)

Obviously I'd expect a Switch AC to offer a far more in depth experience but for what it is, my opinion thus far is that this is a pretty great game.

Oh obviously I'm not going to expect much from it but I still feel the game is pretty grinding, and eh, I dunno. Maybe mobile gaming ain't for me

That being said I have no reason to uninstall it anyway so I'll play it every now and then. It still has moments where I did smile, so there's that.

If that's the best you can say for the game, that's really not saying much. Essentially: "it's quite time consuming to complete all the rudimentary tasks."

I mean, if you find it passes the time pleasantly enough, that's absolutely fine, you do you. That doesn't make it any *good*.

I can't quite make it out. As I've already said, it seems good at first... and it looks lovely... and the Christmas stuff has drawn me back to it. I can even get engrossed in it... but I'm not sure that it's a "good" addiction. I felt that I'd have more fun playing previous titles in the series and, upon returning to New Leaf, I kinda did.

But I still feel its pull. It has weedled its way into me.

Maybe I wasn't specific enough in stating that I'm enjoying the time I spend playing the game.

Am I right in thinking that, once my camp animals hit level 7, I should kick ‘em out and bring lower-level animals in to rank up? None of my residents wanted anything tonight.

Tonight I visited the camps and vans of several GRcadians. Orange has moved his Christmas room downstairs and installed tv football and pizza upstairs :toot: . Grum has created a Christmas section in his van :toot: . Someone else (who I have now forgotten :fp: ) has setupma great entertainment area in their van :toot: .

Yes, or build newer and better amenities to increase the max level of the relevant animals e.g. a cool tent will up your max friendship level with cool animals to 10.

Ah, okay, thanks, Dan. I’ve got a Natural Camp and I’d planned on maxing that up before looking at other styles. Perhaps I’ll bring in a couple of new faces first.

Yeah, I'm finding it much better off to spread the upgrades rather than concentrating on one type. I've got all the tents and am halfway through getting the next amenities (i.e. a level cap of 15 for everyone). Already hit 10 with a handful, and my highest (apollo) is at 12. I'm level 38 myself :toot:

I do find it a fun way to pass the time. It's a switch-off and tap kind of game, but the aesthetics make it suitably relaxing. I spend far too long changing up my camp and van design too (which is the creative part of the game).

It's naughty or nice day today. Whatever that means!

Yeah, the visual style works really well and has that same AC charm and character. Plus it's really well scripted.
If you weren't familiar with the previous entries in the series the creative part of the game would be renowned among mobile games - there's a lot of depth here. Plus, your character can hold far more items at once than in any other AC game.

I understand the criticisms but I just don't get why they lead to a dislike of the game... I find it satisfying much in the same way as previous games in the series, albeit on a smaller scale.

Approaching 300 candy canes now.

What should I buy, the snowman or the fireplace?

It's winter! :toot:

Host the Most has ended, but now it's an "add friends challenge", which because I already have over 10 friends I immediately got all three rewards for - a decent amount of free leaf tickets.

Gardening is about to go live too (doesn't seem to be in yet despite the announcement reading like it is)

I got the fireplace yesterday, so just the snowman left to build from the Christmas stuff. I went fireplace first because it has the better reward (20 leaf tickets).

This game has got a hook in me. It’s not brilliant... but it is good, and the mini gameplay cycles draw me in. Gardening and clothing should be neat additions and they will serve to keep my little addiction going.

I have just wandered out into my camp to experience it :toot: .

Oh! And I have opened the “street” zone in my camp if anyone wants to visit and see some busking :) .

OrangeRakoon and Dan have cleared out my sale trays! .

Maintenance is being carried out tomorrow (Sunday) and so we can't play between 1600 and 2200.

The gardening feature is now available :toot: .

And you can buy "flower food" with real-life money... hmmn. Will cautiously investigate further.

I haven't even gone into the garden.

Can we just have clothes crafting instead please? Not once has there ever been a pair of trousers for sale.

Gardening is fun and cheap. Seeds go for 80 bells each.

They've also changed how talking to characters in camp works, I think probably for the better.

All players will receive a red Christmas stocking when they log on :) . It's only a wee thing but you can place it on, say, a table.

OrangeRakoon... man, how have you got so much of the stuff?!? Amazing scenes. I was a little unsure about the phone-in-a-room in your camper van, though :o  .
