I have a slight problem  Not paid any money though, so that's proof it isn't necessary (especially as I have both KK Slider and Tom Nook now)

Just got the last two new year items to make, but my plan is to make as many zodiac dogs as possible and fill my camper with them 8-)

My "special offer" options for buying leaf tickets have expired now. I resisted buying any; initially I had kinda wanted to get Tom Nook for my camp but, having experienced the dire, personality-free interactions with KK Slider, I just wasn't motivated to get Tom too.

I still like playing the game for short bursts but I can't imagine spending any money on it. I popped back to New Leaf and I immediately felt more involved in that game. The only aspects that are better in Pocket Camp are the online features. I just hope that, for the (presumably in development) Switch version, the game melds these bits into a more New Leaf style of play.

- Customize the terrain in select areas at your campsite!
- Place more than one rug at your campsite.
- Dress up your animal friends!
- Make it easier to ask for help in Shovelstrike Quarry.
- Improve the ease of use of the Market Box.
- Make changes to the gardening feature.
- Add new fish and bugs.

These new features are arriving as a part of the next update; release date TBC. I haven't played the game during these past few weeks but I like the sound of altering the Camp terrain.

I'm well over two months "clean" on this now; I successfully broke the addiction. Reading about the new £39 water theme, I'm glad I have. When did "micro" transactions become "expensive" transactions? That's a rhetorical question: this is the world of mobile gaming. I'm just hoping that AC for Switch is (transaction-wise) nothing like this.

Loot boxes have been added into the game.

So glad I kicked this habit in January :datass: . Apprehensive about how AC is gonna turn out on Switch, though :dread: .

Eurogamer reports that the grind in this game has now got a lot worse and that the need for spending has increased.

I'd kept the app on my tablet just in case I wanted to return to it but this development - together with the fact that I've got back into New Leaf on 3DS and it is far more fun - means that I'm gonna bin it now. It's a shame as, in my eyes, Nintendo is damaging the franchise by presenting it in such a way. I guess it was always gonna get to this point when shareholders - and a fair amount of gamers - were vocal about wanting Nintendo to move into the mobile gaming market.
