I do love Dr Pepper. Kinda like Cherry Coke but nicer.

Wait, I'm getting dangerously close to agreeing with Melatonin on something.

They're both gooseberry fool. Glad I gave them up a few years ago.

Pepsi can be nice sometimes from glass bottles but I prefer coke overall. Dr Pepper etc all taste like gooseberry fool.

Also diet coke etc are for girls who can't handle the real thing 8-)

Anything more than zero cans is bad for you, tbh.

Very drole. The man asked a question. I answered.

We have bodies that were designed for a diet and lifestyle designed for conditions prevalent 40,000 years ago. Sugared drinks weren't part of the deal, let alone a litre or more of the stuff a day. It will only strawberry float you up.

I'm averaging about 3 cans of Diet Pepsi a day at the minute.

When do you reckon I'll die, Atreyu?

Just don't give me any of that Diet Coke or Pepsi Max type shite. The diet varieties are a con in that they're generally less healthy aside from the fact that they taste like toilet cleaner.

Absolutely this. I slightly prefer Coca Cola to Pepsi, but it really doesn't bother me that much.

Diet drinks, Coke Zero and Pepsi Max are all awful and I often wonder if adverts making them look cool have actually brainwashed people into thinking they're nice. Otherwise, I'm simply baffled as to why people like them.

Sooner than you would if you avoided chucking that stuff down your throat, good sir. And in the meantime you'll be more overweight and generally have worse health than if you avoided it entirely. #AtreyuPredicts

I don't drink Diet Coke because I think it'll have office workers drooling after me  I like it over regular Coke because it doesn't taste like someone's poured a bag of sugar into the can. Regular cola drinks are just too sweet tasting for me.

Is it massively more unhealthy than all the other crap we stuff down our gullets (crisps, chocolate, pizza)?
Another thing is that I also workout too so, you know... Proto's gonna cop it before me, yeah?
I haven't had a can in *months*.

Or, in other words "is this crap thing you could eat massively crapper than these other crap things we eat"? The smart money's on keeping clear of them all. You can do bloody well on diets that avoid them completely (or at least suggest you indulge only on rare occasions) -- books by Art de Vany, Loren Cordian and Tim Ferriss are very good on this front.

And yup, you do want to be keeping yourself in shape as well. Try not to look too cheerful at Proto's funeral, though. Tends to go down poorly.

Go have one then.

Just make sure it's a proper Coke, none of this Diet or Pepsi crap.

TBH, I was (slightly tongue in cheek) referring more towards the Max and Zero 'This drink is so EXTREME' adverts.

3 cans is pretty ridiculous to be fair. I hope he drinks then through a straw at least!

3 cans of soft drink is equivalent to an adult male's daily allowance of sugar and it's not even 'good' sugar, it's utter gooseberry fool sugar.

Try drinking squash when you feel you need a sugary drink.

It's also slightly cheaper at my local newsagent so is Sprite which I also love.
