The obvious problem with having actions have consequences in the larger playing world is what should happen if I play with someone who's taken the exact opposite path as me and sided with different factions with polar opposite results?
Does it just force all the story elements of the team leader on everyone and how would that affect the other players story progress?

I think the point is that the reactive layers of story will remain in the hub, private to each player, and the world will contain your average mission based stuff.
Maybe. It's hard to tell with the buzzwordy marketing schpiel they've released.

Anthem Demo Will be Heading to Consoles in Early February
EA announced during its panel at PAX West over the weekend that the Anthem demo will be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in early February 2019.
Anthem Lead Producer, Mike Gamble, shared the announcement during the EA panel and stated that it was only a small teaser of the full game that players will be able to get their hands on next year. Gamble also added that the demo isn't a beta of the game for fans to give feedback on but rather just a chance for players to have a small glimpse into the upcoming title.
The demo for Anthem is set to be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 1st February 2019.

First impression
+Opening song is fantastic, crossed between
+combat remains to be explored. Lacks a certain impact and melee is super basic at this stage so I hope that expands. Not expecting DMC levels of combat but certainly something quicker
+ facial animations are superb. Abit uncanny valley but certainly some of the best I’ve seen this gen.
+ flying is very easy. Doing a jump into a huge canyon really gave it that sense of scale
+ maps looking fantastic. A lot of attention and care
/ the main hub is very quiet and nothing like what we initially saw. Room for potentially though.
-voice acting and story could be classed as annoying. A lot of sci-fi mumbo jumbo and your side kick could be very annoying but can’t deny he doesn’t hold a personality
- framerate feels super slow at times. Doesn’t feel a consistent 30

Welp, at least you got in. Been trying on and off on PC for an hour and twenty and it keeps telling me there are no servers. Going from twitter, if you've managed to get more than 20 minutes of gameplay you're among the 1%.
It's an alpha, not a demo, not even a beta, but considering they're working on 3 hour play sessions and the majority of people can't access the game for half of the first one it's not a great way to engender excitement.

Go for it! What platform you on Floex?
So yeah, the first session was a complete bust. Was trying more or less the whole way through to connect and getting nothing. Next session starts at 8pm GMT but my wife is getting back from a few days away so the earliest I'll get to play is tomorrow.
Frustrating.

I don't speak for the GRcade mod team but I think Resetera is wrong to ban such discussion because it means they want to keep the industry companies happy - yet they don't ban previews of XBO and PS4 OS/firmware betas. It certainly isn't illegal for a website to post such reviews although it is likely breaking the agreement made between player and publisher - but that's your business.

Everyone who played the Alpha agreed to an NDA. It technically is illegal if we discuss any details of the game and ResetEra could possibly get in trouble for hosting such impressions given their size and reach.
GRcade on the other hand...
(I was fully intending to post impressions so here they are: the title screen was quite nice. The error messages, not so much)
