I hate all these motion games and MS and Sony are just going to make it worse.

There are hardly any 'hardcore' games that make good use of the Wii's motion controls and the trend is going to continue on the two current gen consoles, its a disgrace.

Who else is with me on this?

:fp:

I'm not the biggest fan, but games like Just Dance have proved to me how fun these types of games are. Kinda funny how I was so against it and then a game like Just Dance turned me around

I think when used correctly motion control can be fine, I can't see MS shoe horning Natal into every "hardcore" (such a gooseberry fool term for people who play games and wank to much) game. I think it'll just be kept to casual games, and if you don't want to play them, they'd be way to avoid.

As long as they don't shoehorn it into every game, it'll be fine.

I thought the sixaxis worked quite well, as it was still a normal gamepad, so you could still have normal games easily while still having motion controlly bits where they were needed. Shaking the controller to punch the chimera off you in Resistance, for example.

I'm hoping with Natal people do start making FPS's that you can strafe on by leaning to one side or t'other. If anyone does that, I'll be happy with it

This.

I don't mind some of the games out but as long as they don't bring out Kingdom Hearts 3 on the wii using the Wiimote as a keyblade we will all get along fine

Surely the best way for motion control to develop into a really good control option for "teh hardcor gamez" is for it to be adopted by as many of the 'Big 3' as possible and for the resources big companies like those three (plus the major publishing houses and their development studios) have be brought to bear on the subject?

The more time, money and talent is devoted to motion control, the better it will get.

Oh yes.

RE4 Wii

World of Goo

Dead Space Extraction

Having said that at least two of those games made decent ancillary use of motion too.

You don't need a motion controller for pointer games though, a mouse does a much better job!
