PostAny advice regarding a sound bar?
by JiggerJay » Thu Jan 01, 2015 11:27 am

Hello, looking at buying a soundbar for my tv when I move as a sound system would be too cumbersome for my living room, and the speakers in my Sony w6 are a bit meh.

Any advice on a sub £100 sound bar? Obviously I know it is not going to be the best around, but I'm pretty deaf anyway so I get lost with quality once you get past real cheap tinny gooseberry fool.

Is the Sony ones that come up on amazon second result (mobile atm cant link) worth a cop?

I have a Yamaha one that is excellent, was £170 though.

The newer version is currently £150

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yamaha-YAS-93-Surround-Soundbar-subwoofers-/dp/B00KBVVEGW/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1420128867&sr=1-1&keywords=yamaha+soundbar

I would try to avoid anything with a separate subwoofer as they take up extra space and produce too much bass which imo makes speech hard to hear at times

I have that one too, it is excellent although the remote is a bit basic.

I only use mine for watching Blurays so don't really use the remote for anything other than controlling the volume.

Mine is similar to this http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-dvd-blu-ray/dvd-blu-ray-home-cinema/home-cinema-systems-sound-bars/lg-nb3530a-wireless-sound-bar-21328899-pdt.html#cat-0 but about 2 years old now, i can't find the model number as i am at work but it's amazing. So if i find it i'll post. Figure it must be worth about 130-150 now.
