PostAnybody playing Animal Crossing New Leaf?

I ask as I'm thinking of picking it up "blind" (over researching games like this kill them for me) but wanted to make sure I could enjoy the online aspect to some extent. My limited understanding is that this requires some friends codes (save for the dream bits) .
With this in mind I was wondering if anybody still plays and would mind sharing friend codes with me?
Also, am I right in thinking this will gave me a nice Christmassy feeling that my life is so devoid of in my advanced years?
Thanks in advance!

I've just started a new copy again but I dont have broadband at home so I'm no use with the online (never really enjoyed it online anyway, tbh). It's not using the word "Christmas" but there's been a month long event leading up to "Toy Day" on the 24th where you give your villagers presents and stuff, theres lights on the pine trees, snow and snowmen etc. I find it really enjoyable to unwind with on the train home.

Cool cheers. Good to know the online aspect is not essential to enjoy the experience.

I still check in on my village fairly often. Out of habit really. As wrathy says, the game is nicely wintry right now.

Online is really not essential but if you want to try visiting when you've got the game up and running, just pop a message on here.

Cheers, sounds like online aspect is far from essential so far.

The online aspect is far from vital to the game. It's a great feature as you can check out your friends' towns but I spent the vast majority of my 100 or so hours of play time offline.

Agreed. I went online a bit when I first started it but that was just out of wondering what it was like.

I did manage to "unintentionally" trap Rog in my town for over an hour one time though. So there was that.

I still play it fairly often. My town has tonnes of fruit you are welcome too, which is a good way to get started, and I have a complete fossil collection you might want to visit, and dig up some. I also have bamboo which can make quite a bit of money, but I'm not sure I recommend planting it as it spawns bloody everywhere and it quickly blunts an axe if you want to cut it down. Also visit my lighthouse and coffee shop.

Cheers, I may well take you up on this offer. Would like to get some of the non native fruits and this sounds like the perfect opportunity. If my Game code ever comes through (Game as ruthlessly as efficient as ever, wouldn't surprise me if they post the code. Second class).

I just dug up all my bamboo but after a few days I'll need to harvest it again or my town will turn into an impenetrable jungle. Should net you about 13k (which is a lot when you start). I have bananas, coconuts, apples, lemons, pears, cherries, mangos, peaches, lychees, pointy things. Bananas and coconuts are worth the most I think, they only grow on beaches. Might take a while but that could net you about 20 to 30k.

I'm poor because I spend all my money on town projects and don't play the turnip market. So I can't give you a snoops injection I'm afraid.

Turnips are how I made my fortune at the start, but it was a lot easier when the whole forum was playing and you had a high chance of someone's town paying a lot for them. Wouldn't recommend it without other players to rely on though, very risky.

You can pick up a few though. In fact I have some now. Let me know if your turnip price is over 200 or so!

I remember catching a ridiculous price once on the GC version. Something absurdly high per turnip. Looked it up online and apparently there's a once-in-a-blue-moon likelihood so I was pretty damn lucky considering I only really dabbled in the market at that point.

GRcade Xmas turnip-thon perchance?
Cheers for the advice. My code has just turned up so hopefully I can get to grips with it this afternoon. Will add your Friend Code per your profile if that's OK? Don't know what else if anything is required, but am aware of gates opening/closing etc.
