Definitely go yourself. I spent a couple of months in the States myself a few years ago and loved it. As others have said, the freedom to come and go as you please is a huge thing.

Think I will go for it and go alone, should be a good experience plus gives me time to think about what's next

Staydead and Falsey win the game and get sent to Gran Canaria to have a holiday together.

Little do they know that the DML twist starts when they actually arrive at the hotel....

I'd go on holiday with Falsey. Yo Milner, want to give me and Falsey the tickets?

I think going on holiday without the need to drag around or get dragged around to come to an unending concensus about what to do rather than just doing stuff is underrated.

I mean, going on solo holidays can be fun, but to gran canaria?!

Do go on it by yourself and i hope you enjoy it but heading there sounds like my worst nightmare. Brits abroad :dread:

Admittedly I have no idea what this place is, I was thinking somewhere cool like Japan, Germany, USA etc. you can explore.

A suggestion if you don't want to go by yourself, you might want to see if your credit card has trip cancellation insurance built in.

Lot's of higher tier cards have all sorts of travel benefits so it might be worth looking into.

Gran Canaria has some great cycling routes. So whilst you're out there, hire a bike and explore the island

Cycling is an amazing way to space out and actually get to know a place rather than just the tourist hotspots.

I've been on holiday alone a couple of times. If you have stuff to keep yourself busy like reading a book and chilling or exploring a vast city depending where you are then it's fine.
Have fun

I'm going to pop out tomorrow and pick up some bits for it, need to get money changed as well.

She paid for it on her debit card and I transferred the money over to her. I wonder if she might get some sort of benefit with NatWest?
