Well the long wait is over, here, courtesy of Ulric, is a little gift for the community;

“Hi everyone at APB-Evolved, we just wanted to quickly say thanks for all your patience recently whilst we’ve been quietly pushing forward with the development of APB.

We know this can be frustrating for fans, so to show our appreciation we have decided to inform you guys that yes we WILL be at E3 this year and this will mark the start of lots more news, activities and information coming out about APB: All Points Bulletin.

Here is a brand new screenshot made especially for you guys to give you another look at the awesome character customizations that will make up a large part of APB.

See you all at E3.

Is this the GTA style MMO thingy then? It does sound promising if it is the game I'm thinking about.

this game does sound interesting, but that screenshot is such an obvious, cliched, "cool for nerds", type of shot that it makes me like the game less on principle. obviously they're just pandering to an audience, but still...

It's cop & robbers online with a crazy level of customisation. (it's from the Crackdown devs)

Here's some gameplay footage from last year.

Can't wait to see this one. Hopefully be running on XBOX360 too.

I hope so too!

The customisation looks truly insane, I just hope they have enough variety in mission types for both side, else it will feel like the same Deathmatch over and over. Since people will see this as GTA4, it feel more like the co-op missions for GTA4 but with lots more human players.

The Drive-by footage looks pretty cool, especially if it involves planning your next hit. I wonder how much control you really get in this kind of mission? How do you find out about the van in the first place?

If they pull it all off, I can see some cool "Heat" style missions kicking off.

It won't be, it's not coming out on 360 until after the PC release. That is their main priority. I imagine development of the 360 version hasn't even begun yet.

Judging by those videos , what they have there would be pretty tough to run on the 360. There's virtually no loading times for the matchmaking which is something the 360 would have ( I think ).

Unless they plan a sort of 'accept and load' matchmaking scheme , which allows the loading of extra players onto the map. but that would break the fluency of the game.

Dave Jones posted this on GAF:
One of the unique features of APB is that it's 100 players in a city at a time. It's certainly not 8v8 and it's not instanced.

It's also not an MMO, it's doing something new and different so there is no reference I can think of that makes it simple to explain.

It's fun and unique but like Crackdown it's a game you need to play to understand. I think those kind of games are the best :)

Just rewatched those clips from last year. The one showcasing a car chase is a bit overplanned and leaves me hoping it's a bit more exciting than that.

Wait so it's called APB: All Points Bulletin? What's the first APB stand for then?

Are we sure about that? Perhaps the plans have changed.

Still only PC (pretty sure the beta is due to go live soon), unless MS have paid for console exclusivity.

Can't really see the game working over Live though, especially if they intend to have 100+ players in each game.

Make it server based instead of P2P? That would sort out the possible number of players issue.

EA To Publish this:

Electronic Arts to publish APB

Electronic Arts is to publish Realtime Worlds' APB, the highly-anticipated massively multiplayer online game for consoles and PC.

EA's CEO John Riccitiello described the studio as "an incredible team" citing the talent's heritage with titles such as the original Grand Theft Auto and Crackdown as a key reason for working with the developer.

APB (All Points Bulletin) is the next title from Scottish developer Realtime Worlds, and follows the success of the studio's first Xbox 360 title, Crackdown.
